Christian, LOL. I think already have this tournament on DVD! I heard they want to start showing the Kentucky Derby every year only with one change...every year from now on it will be run with the same horses!!!

Well Chris, alot of pullers MIGHT not like how this is set up, BUT its not our tourney to run.
There are MANY tourneys across the Country that pullers aren't necessarily happy about.
I think the timing is worse then inviting the BEST right AND left pullers in the Country to go, in the weight classes that have been "chosen". ;D
BTW: Aren't you pulling in the 54s in a couple of weeks? Come on, whats another 35lbs........LOL.... Good luck in Columbia!

how many armwrestlers are on this board?
How many armwrestlers actually participate in actively pulling in tournaments accross the USA?
1000?
1500?
Isn't it a bit selfish of us to want Fox Sports to cater to that small number?
how about the 80 million people out there watching tv every day?
How many of those people know about our sport?
.00001875
If there are 1500 armwrestlers then that number would represent the percentage of potential viewers watching this show.
I don't think we are in a place to complain about anything. What .00001875 represents to me is this....
THERE IS NO PLACE TO GO BUT UP!!!!
So until you hear an ESPN reporter complaining about seeing the same old armwrestling faces on National TV I don't think we should be complaining.

Gary what you said is very true indeed however, The reason I think so much complaining is going on is because some guys feel like their being overlooked and under aprreciated because Either their not one of the twelve going to be invited or becausethey don't pull in the stated weight classes for this tournament thus guaranteeing them a non invitation.

I'm not posting to complain as I think any coverage like this will be great for the sport. Just wanted to add my two cents.....most of the viewers I have heard from like the WOMENS the best............maybe I am biased though

Tyler, That is true...
but only soo much can be done at a time
The good out weighs the bad. There is only one hour. Hopefully the other weight classes will get there due but we have to be happy with what we have.
As far as timing goes..
You guys look at it like "oh...no...superstar showdown one week before"
That means some of the best armwrestlers in the US will have have an opportunity to make 5 to six grand in a period of 8 days.
That is amazing!!! What if armwrestlers had that opportunity once a month? Haven't armwrestlers dreamed of being able to make a living at pulling? What if that was all you did? Could you handle pulling back to back weekends?
I bet the next generation of armwrestlers will be able to. More exposure. More Sponsors. More money. More competition.

I have no idea why everyone is complaining about weight classes. It says 0-198, 0!!!Get in there and armwrestle or shut up!!! The people don't really care if some 138lb guy beats another 138lb guy. Sorry, I know it stings a little, but that is the way it is. 198lb guys are like the "Perfect" body size type to get exposure out of and the Supers are probably the fan favorites. Just look at how much T.V. time the Strongman competitions get. Do you think that it would get that much if it was Midget Thumbwrestling? Let me guess....... NO!!!!Hey, think about this one, I live in this freaking state, and have been dying for someone to throw something like this, and guess what, I can't even think about an invite because I screwed up my arm!!! How do you think I feel, finally a Big Time Tournament that I can go to and I can't!!! You guys come on here and cry " Why only twelve guys " or " Why those weight classes " and " Why not me ". Shut up!!!!! Stop your crying and be a man!!!!

Hey Gary, if Dave is putting on the event and Fox is filming it and you're obviously not pulling in it, then why are you defending it SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!

Look guys, all of the elements you are concerned about were terms insisted upon by Fox. I spoke with Dave earlier today and went over some of the details. I agree that all armwrestlers that committed to going to Chehalis should still go which is why I suggested earlier that we make the weight classes 220, and 221+. That way you have the 165 and 198 competing one week in Chehalis and the 220 and 220+ competing in CT the week after.
The date and the format were suggested by Fox and for now I think we should comply. The sport needs media exposure more than anything and I think Fox Sports Net is a good entity to have around.
I didn't want to come out with this so early, but a tournament is in the works for Mohegan Sun for this November. There will likely be eight classes for men and four for women as well and a supermatch aspect to the tournament in the works for November. Bear with us, especially you guys in the Northeast that want to compete in this. I understand. I would love to compete on Fox in my own backyard (just one hour from here) at my favorite casino in the world. We just have to be patient, we will get the chance. As for the casino, trust me you guys will love it there, the casino and hotel are fabulous.
