The ladies brackets are shaping up to be the best turnout of womens talent that I have ever been apart of:: Just some of the favorites... Joyce King, Josee Morneau, Malin Bergstrom, Elaine Blik, Tamara Mitts, Judy Dodd, Cynthia Yerby, and of coarse
ME!! LOL
anyone know if Barb Zalepa is coming -- that would be sweet!!!
Either class it does not matter -- there will be no bracket to hide in and NO EASY DAYS TO BE HAD BY ANYONE.
I am counting down the days....
The one thing I hear from the boys is that "the ladies do not put on a show like the "big boys"" -- well all that is about to be put to rest -- the ladies are going to rock the Plaza....
Guaranteed.....

Just a little tease for some of you ladies.. There will be a National Champion making a come back at the Vegas Tournament.. And let's just say that one of the only ladies to beat her was Dot Jones sooo go figure what kind of monkey wrench she could throw into the mix...
I can't wait to witness the incredible show of talent..

Actually Olin --
We (the ladies) have the talent - the strength - and the ability to show the FREAKING WORLD- that we are worthy of our moment in the limelight..
People always say that the womens matches are just not there / not exciting / the numbers are not there -- guess what -- they will be come Vegas. The ladies are coming full throttle -- and will be EXCITING and Packed full of talent -- just like the guys.
Would I show up in a thong -- No. and let me just say this -- Olin -- I know you didn't mean anything offensive by it - but by remarking about women wearing Thongs it belittles those of us who train our a$$es off.....

The people that say women matches aren't exciting must be sleeping or not paying attention.
Women's matches are exciting, The most exciting matches I saw were at the 2001 new York GNC with Josee,Dalia, Mary, Elaine etc. and thats why I got into this sport. Alot of women train their butts off as hard or even harder then men. I wish people would just see others as fellow armwrestlers, because thats what you are when you are up at that table and nothing else. People want to this sport to grow and get people interested thats fine but don't turn things into a mockery just to sell it. I get positive feed back all the time from non-armwrestlers spectators about the sport not about thongs, arrogant b.s and hype. Anyway, Good Luck to all the ladies going to Vegas because it will be an awesome display of strength and ability and I'm sorry I won't get to see it.

Wet t-shirts and thongs?! This is not only degrading but insulting! I am not sure about all of the ladies that compete in armwrestling but I do NOT want to be grouped in a category where we (LADIES--being the operative word) are only looked upon as cheap thrills. Ya know, we do take a little pride in the fact that we are athletes.
I am an educated individual that trains like an athlete and takes the sport seriously. I believe that we should be considered serious athletes like the guys consider themselves. It is hard enough to shake the sterotypical dial "900 phone sleezes" without you guys adding to it. Who cares whose rear is better looking?! I think the true competitors want to be "scored" on ability and true athleticism. Please stop portraying the ladies in such a demeaning manner.
Just my thoughts.....
God Bless, Tonya

Well said Tonya!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dan -- I know Olin and I am sure that he did not mean anything ill -- he is a really nice guy. However -- with that said -- 99% of us "women " just don't want to be grouped and portrayed as "the life of the party" but rather as a serious competitor...
Every single time there is a positive post about women -- somehow it always goes back to a T&A conversation. I for one am sick of it - and well I am not the only one.
So with that said -- keep training ladies -- Vegas is but a few short weeks away -- and see ya'll there..

May I say that Valerie is very dedicated and loves armwrestling. Valerie is also only 21 years old has an outgoing personality, good looks and receives a lot of attention, yes.
I dont think Valerie should be frowned upon. because of this, just my opinion.
I think Tonya said it right also, the boy'Z have gone out of their way to post the fun and attention grabbing comments from the athletic ones. I also see your points too on wanting to be seen as the athletes you are.
Good luck in Vegas
