Being a "normal" MP sucked. No weekends off, no 4-day weekends when everyone else got them. Being called out because someone parked in another persons spot(assigned spots in the housing areas) is STUPID. People call the cops/mp's for EVERYTHING. Most of it is BS. SRT/Bike Patrol/Traffic was alot better. I was in a detachment at that point and most of the people are not on the "I'm bad because I'm a NCO power trip". I don't have patience for STUPID people calling the cops for everything so that wasn't the best route I could of taken. I'm still in the law enforcement field but with government employees and not soldiers or their families, which are nothing alike. Being a cop in the civilian world would not be a route I'd take. The pay and benefits aren't the greatest, unless employed with the state or big city, and with the BS to deal with doesn't appeal to me.
Actually I'm on the "Desk" right now and heard the "county" call one of their officers for an active domestic, and the Desk Sgt. just said "I could never be a cop" LMAO.
BTW the Marine probably would have worked your a$$ over.....

So MP doesn't seem like a job I would like a whole lot. How was life on base while you was married Anthony did you get to spend everyday at home after work besides when you did your tours in Iraq? An what was the MP duty like in Iraq?
Nah this Marine wouldn't have worked me over Just cause someone is in the Armed services doesn't mean they can kick someones ass that isn't. I can throw hands pretty good. I know some jiu jitsu an other basic stuff. He was mad cause I didn't wanna sign papers for him right then I wouldn't have done nothing anyways he was joking he's really a pretty cool guy Sgt. Johnson.

Damn Johnny are you writing a book ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Married life was the same as living in the barracks except I had to drive further to get home and had to pay for rent. I lived off base(the military gives you more money if you live off base) After the work day I went home. Iraq 2003-2004: The first 3 mths were 12hr days of city/main supply route patrolling. When you add in loading the truck with weapons, ammo, gear,ect./unloading all that after the shift, and PT it sometimes was closer to a 18hr day. No days off at that time. After that the days shortened to 8hr shifts+ load, unload, PT.... with 1-2 days off/week. Of course if something happened or needed a body your day off was short lived. After the first 3 months we mostly just patrolled the cities, or provided perimeter security at the police stations in the city we were working in. Living conditions slowly got better as time went on. The large bases Baghdad, ect... had Burger King, nice gyms, ect.... I was at small bases so no high society living like that. "Just cause someone is in the Armed services........" Ya think ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) Most people know that, but I'd still put my money on him, no offense.

No no book lol just want as much info as I can possibly get an I seem to get more on here cause i forget to ask people stuff in person usually. That kinda life doesn't really sound bad or anything. I know the health benefits are def worth it.
An I don't think he could take me of course I would never say I didn't have a chance with anyone even though there are lots of people that would kick my a s s but I don't think he could.
