WOW -- Great job ladies --- you all pulled your tails off and did an amazing job.. We seem to get lost in the shuffle and wanted to give credit to the AMAZING JOB done by ALL of the ladies. It was an absolute pleasure to meet Barb Zalepa, Danya Baker and others. It was awsome seeing others again -- of coarse my travel companion and sister in arm wrestling Elaine -- but also Joyce (hell of a lady) - Judy, Tamara and the other girls from Cali.. Then of coarse there is Malin.. Oh my dear -- what a fierce competitor. And of coarse Dalia did OUTSTANDING AS USUAL ON THE TABLE. Cynthia Yerby -- Awsome Puller.. Well, just had to get that off my chest. Nicole

Nicole, I would imagine that you feel much lighter after "getting that off your chest!"... Yes, we ladies tend to get "lost" on this board...threads tend to "die" after a female posts something! Not sure why. I need to bring some attention to Nicole for the great accomplishment she had in Vegas. After last year's first meeting with Joyce King, and being defeated by her, Nicole went home and "targeted" Joyce as her goal to beat in 2005. Well, after 9 months of intense training, she accomplished that goal! Joyce is phenonimally strong and Nicole "rose to the challenge" taking one match from her in Vegas. The guys may not pay attention to this great feat or understand what it took to finally take Joyce to the pad, but to Nicole, this was LANDMARK! ;D Now, to add to that challenge, I'm sure that Dalia is now "targeted". I personally know Nicole's strength. Back in 2003 when I first met up with her on the table, I could have given her a match. Now? I cannot touch her strength and abilities! (And I'm even training now!) I believe that her determination cannot be matched by any other female competitor today. Please tell me if you think I'm wrong. There... I have vented... now I feel 5 lbs. lighter since that's off my chest!

The threads die off because Men are selfish and need to control everything.
All you ladies pulled awesome in vegas.

NICOLE!!!
You did a great job in Vegas. It was fun to follow your training by e-mail the weeks/month before Vegas. To see that you really had your goal ready!!! It must have felt SOOO GOOD, to win against Joyce! To finally get to your goal that you have wanted for so long!
GREAT!!!
I also think it was so nice to meet you girls.
Nicole, Barb, Tamara, Elaine. But I am sorry that Elaine hurt herself and that Tamara got Barb in the first match (two from Canada that are both real great pullers).
I think also that our threads die ´cause men are not that intrested in womans armwrestling. And we are a few woman that is members of this board. It´s we who have to keep our threads alive. And OFF COURSE or male friends, that really like womans armwrestling!
One day we WILL be big too! We just have to keep on working with it! ´Cause the men wont, so let´s take the power to make woman big in our own hands!!!
Take care, and it was a pleasure to meet you girls! Once again, I AM IMPRESSED Nicole!!! I am sure you will get to Dalia soon!!!

Malin, One of my biggest disappointments of Vegas (besides getting hurt) was not being able to pull you! I was really looking forward to it. Perhaps later this year we will meet again? I'm hoping so. It was great to meet you as well. Good luck in your future events. Elaine

I think it's a numbers game for the woman. When you look at the threads or even tours , the numbers are not there yet , but are growing. I do believe like others sports the womans classes will grow and Tv can only help. Just look at the history of others sports, ( track, basketball, soccer, bowling and ESPN womans pool) if this core group of woman stick to it and stick together they will be the building blocks of our sport in years to come.
My 2 cents.

scott what you posted is so very true, the #'s up in canada for womans armwrestling are very low and everyone is trying to find away to solve that situatiuon and I honestly believe it has to do with society's ignorant and negative feeling towards the female gender in armwrestling.
many people I come across that have no clue about the woman involved in armwrestling say stuff like The girls who armwrestle are "Manbeasts, butches or truck drivers' u kow stuff like that so I have to explain to them NO their not their actually very attractive, pleasant, athletic women who train hard and bust their @$$es in the gym and in the tables to be succcessfull at armwrestling. Then these peole look at me as if I'm funed and are like Yeah whatever, then when I show them arm Tv or forward tournament pictures and stuff like that, their like Wow who's the hot Chick armwrestling in the picture! Hypocrites go figure.
sorry to vent.

thank you so much for saying that.. I keep telling the powers that be that we can get the female #'s up if 1. We have someone back us up on this and 2. We get airtime like the boys.. Many people in the public don't know that there is a ladies division or like you said that we are NOT the sterotype. Here in the US Southeast -- we have an exploding womens division. In Albany GA we just had 3 womens weight classes left and right with great competition. How did we amp the numbers -- getting out and promoting. The promoters down here do not section out the women away from the boys -- we are hyped up right along with them -- it is great and we get the respect we deserve. Maybe one day the powers that be will get a clue and include us. Nicole

Elaine!
Yeah..I really wanted to pull against you too. But next year maybe? Hope you feel better and that training goes well for you.
ABOUT WOMAN AND ARMWRESTLING!
It´s such a great discussion! In Sweden the armwrestling is almost MORE famous on the womans side then the mens side. ´Cause we have Heidi that have done her documentary and also I think many people like to see strong woman compete in a strenght sport since it´s rare.
In Sweden we have really made it with womans armwrestling. Even though it IS more competitions with prize money for the men then for the woman. But the womans are more in the papers and on TV. Charlie Minell have done alot for the mens armwrestling and have had great competitions for men and made that bigger. Heidi have done some tv jobs, and work (as I also do) with projects with armwrestling, traveling around and showing people and getting challenged and so on. I also think that if we want it to be a prize money competition for woman WE HAVE TO DO IT OURSELFS or somebody that really BELIVES in womans armwrestling have to do it!!! Then letting people that are not even interested in womans armwrestling doing armwrestling competitions for us JUST CAUSE THEY HAVE TOO.
I belive in what Heidi will try to do. A armwrestling competition for ONLY woman! With a lot of prize money.
We have to fight for ourselfes, and not sit and wait for others to do that, and when they do it´s often not as good as it is for the men.
I also think that we (all the girls here on the message board) do alot for the woman, only by writing here about it or also by commenting others threads like the one "who is the best armwrestlers ever" and then you just see alot of mens name put some womans name in there, to show people that we also excists and want to fight for be seen.
I am VERY tired now, and I don´t know if I make any sence in what I have written.
But what I am trying to say is, that if we ALL work for woman (small and big) we will be as big as the men in the armwrestling world someday.....maybe even BIGGER, who knows.
Take care everybody, tonight I will get challenged by alot of men and woman at a famous club in Stockholm. Wish me luck!!!
