Question: I dont mean to start trouble this is an honest question. what is the difference in this nationals and unified nationals? and what is the point (not saying it shouldnt be) if USAA is a part of unified nationals? Is there a worlds to qualify for at this national championhip?

Ryan,
We were doing this nationals long before the Unified. So why stop? Just like we have told other associations that if they join that they do not have to stop holding contests that have a long tradition. This year will be our 11th year and it is the United States Armwrestling Association Nationals. It is open to all countries and we normally get other countries there. Last year we had a team from Japan. It is also an Arnold qualifier.
The Unified is there to join all of us at one unified national and it is the qualifier for Team USA in Japan.
Remember the USAA is a member of United State Armsports. Not the other way around. ;D

What is the difference between novice and amateur.
Wish I could go.
Master's 60+ sounds good to me.
I wish that we could have some of that in the Northeast.

I beleive the USAA's rules are as a novice you can never have won an event period. As an Amature you can win an event or two I think. Leonard will answer this with alot more detail, I am sure.

Your are not a Novice if you have won a tournament with at least 4 in that class. You could pull up a weight class because you did not win one in that division.
Amateur divisions will be minus recognized pros. Your win count does not matter nor if you won some money in a bar tournament somewhere. Now if you win money in a recognized pro event then you are not an amateur.
We all know who the pros are and they cannot enter the amateurs. By the way the novice divisions have been there from the beginning but you are not a Novice National Champion, you simply won the novice at the Nationals. How can you be a National Champion in a division that is so short lived. ;D

By the way, this is a tournament that is a lot of fun.

Good pullers, it's located on the shore of Lake Tahoe, and about an hours drive from Reno. You could make it a long weekend and have a great time!
