Some of you old timers may remember Clyde Young. He armwrestled in the Over the Top tournament in 86 as well as Petaluma, and had a number of good matches with Dave Patton. Even won one if I remember correctly.
I received a call from his wife that he has colon cancer and will most likely only live a few more days or weeks. He is at home on morphine drip, to control the pain as much as possible.
Al Bown, Wayne Fredrickson and myself went by to visit him on Monday night and try to lift his spirits by talking about armwrestling and memories.
It was difficult seeing him, in that condition, but I'm very glad I went. Armwrestling is a family in many ways.
Please send your prayers and well wishes his way.

Steve I am very sad to hear this! Clyde Young and his brother Edell were two brothers that were also world champions. I had the oppotunity to know them and pull them several times. Clyde was a very smart puller with a great top roll, much like Cobra! When Clyde was at your armwrestling Fundraiser, we had a chance to talk and he told me about this. He was still very upbeat, and knows God is in control. Where can we go to see him or can someone call? I pray for his comfort and peace in this time of heartache, for his family!!
