Hope you had a great weekend!
I have been getting a lot of calls and e-mails about Unifieds and hope I can answer some of the questions here.
1. You must be a U.S. Citizen to participate.
2. Everyone is welcome to participate, you do not have to pre-qualify for the tournament.
3. The entry fee is $30 per arm/division.
4. There is a separate team competition for each Saturday and Sunday.
5. The teams trophies are 60" for 1st place, 48" for 2nd and 36" for 3rd. Each 1st place team individual will receive a Champion Medal.
6. A "team" consists of "10 arms" - 5 people/2 arms - 10 people/10 arms or any other combination. You do not have to be from the same state to make up a team. In Tahoe we had a team of all Masters called the "Masters Club". Team entry fee is $20.
7. To wrestle in the Masters divisions (age 40+, 50+, 60+) you have to be the appropriate age by 11/27/05 (the date of Worlds in Tokyo)
8. The awards will be given out at the end of each days' competition.
9. There are no membership fees to participate.
10. This is a "Arnold Qualifier". There are added classes that qualify that didn't last year. Check out the details at www.USArmwrestling.com
11. This is the ONLY qualifier for the WAF World's in Tokyo. 1st and 2nd place in all divisions automatically secure a spot on Team USA. Should one of these winners choose not to attend the next athletes, in line of succession, will be invited until we get the 2 members. Should there not be an entry in the division then an athlete that meets the requirement of the respective spot will be invited. The same system will be used should a class, after ALL entries in that class have declined, still need a spot filled.
12. There are 200 free shirts, 1 per wrestler, to be given to the entered armwrestlers so be early to guarantee receiving one!
