Michael and I went to the Doubletree this afternoon and took a tour. We are pretty excited about the event. It is just a short hop to all of the really "happening" spots in Little Rock (both the clubs and restaurants).
We also talked to Velva, the director of sales from the Doubletree, regarding available rooms. She indicated that there ARE still some rooms left. As a matter a fact, there are 29 available at the $86 rate. The catch is that you HAVE TO ASK FOR VELVA in order to receive it. Again, the number is 1.800.937.2789. There is not a sauna on site but a local gym has said that the armwrestlers may use their facility for free. Now being that it is really hot, the pool area is on the 4th floor. I really think that if we need to shed a few of those unwanted-pain-in-my-butt-won't-go-away pounds that we can just go outside in the pool area for 10 minutes and viola--they'll be gone! ;D
You can also get a room at the Clarion for $75 per night. The number is 501.374.9000. There are some rooms available there as well.
