In Kabul 2003/4 I was part of parachute company 3 RCR The Royal Canadian Regiment while deployed our Job was to provide security to our Area of Operation so that our CIMIC teams could provide drinking water VIA the construction of wells, Build school, aid in the security of female children to attend classes, Set up polling stations for the first Democratic ellection which brought in Karzi unfortunately and Provide presence patrols in the nearby rural areas to ensure no Taliban cells were operating in and around our AOO. To be perfectly honest I was scared on a daily basis until I got complacent and I felt everyone their was different then me but people just the same. I really started to feel that the fighting was going to be just with the Americans because of some kind of Hatred for the U.S. I thought the local people who we talked to everyday at their shops police stations, markets, bazars, and farmers feilds were actually pro Canadian. Sergeant Short, 3RCR, was killed when the jeep he was in drove over a landmine outside of Kabul. He was 42 and leaves behind his wife, son and daughter. Cpl Berring finger was also killed. my Best freind was in the VEH behind them and they were members of my Platoon. I was 11C they were 11A we were the next secotion to prove the road and I have never forgot them..Sgt Short was a freind and a leader had put me thro battle school and was a qualifiled master sniper but gave it up so he could lead men. The people we were protecting acted like our freinds were provideing intell on our routes and travell patterns. They died for what? later on in our tour my company was again attact by a suicide bomber who killed Cpl Murphy. I have yet to go back but I have been traing vary hard to get fit enough to be selected if my Battalion should get another rotation..This time Kandahar. Not everyone in the west wants to see muslims go down I wanted to help. But We try to help and they spit in our face. I might be missing the big picture butwhen you live it and the people you know die around you, you start questioning WTF is up with these FNNNN people. And redemption is a hard feeling to get over..Hence 2011 and Yeah I wanna go back...Pro Patria!

Afghan sweep seizes weapons, drugs

A large-scale military sweep in southern Afghanistan involving Canadian troops has yielded the seizure of massive weapons caches hidden in fields around a tactically crucial region in Kandahar province.

The goal of the five-day operation, planned and led by the Afghan National Army with support from Canada's Royal 22nd Regiment "Van Doos" battle group and an American company, was to find weapons and capture Taliban militants just arriving in the region.


In doing so, the coalition of 2,200 soldiers hopes to take some steam out of an upcoming spring fighting season. The mission is aimed at reducing fighting during the eventual handover of the Panjwaii district to U.S. forces this summer.

Items taken from the region included:

- Three massive weapons caches

- 250 pounds of marijuana

Three unexploded IEDs (improvised explosive devices) and components for assembling bombs.

The operation was supported by six sniper groups, a tank squadron, artillery troops and canine teams.

CBC's Peter Akman, reporting from Kandahar, said the operation was a show of force not seen in the southern part of Afghanistan in a decade.

It was also heralded as a major step towards an independent and self-sufficient Afghan National Army, which engineered the mission and supplied more than a thousand soldiers.

Engin, even your country it part of the "problem". Turkey is on the US payroll too, just like the rest of us. You are part of NATO and as part of NATO, you march to the same drum. Theologically - no . . . Because his allegiance is to Allah, The moon God of Arabia Religiously – no… Because no other religion is accepted by His Allah except Islam (Quran, 2:256)(Koran)

In these eleven chapters is to be found whatever relates to the monks; as to the remaining seven chapters they direct what relates to every Christian.

XII. Those Christians who are inhabitants, and with their riches and traffic are able to pay the poll-tax, shall pay no more than 12 drachmas.

XIII. Excepting this, nothing more shall be required of them, according to the express word of God, that says: ‘Do not molest those that have a veneration for the Books that are sent from God, but rather, in a kind manner, give of your good things to them, and converse with them, and hinder every one from molesting them.’
