Just got finished watching Obama's speech. Am I the only one who thought it sounded like Bush 2.0? What a crock, I'm not buying it. Especially when it cost $600 MILLION the first week.

he was being dishonest because he said the UN would be taking over most of the operations but what he didnt say was that the UN was led by mostly the US

Obama lied through his teeth.
You can't deploy an entire Marine Expeditionary Unit and think nobody will notice.
You can't shoot 120 missiles and claim that you are not engaged in war.
You (Candidate Obama) can't claim that a President does not have the authority to go to war without Congressional approval - and then go to war and claim you didn't go to war.
You can't demand that the leader of a sovereign nation must step down and state that you will pursue this, and not call it regime change. Oh yeah, it's not regime change unless we go to war. Oops. Ok, it's not regime change until we put boots on the ground. (That MEU that just deployed better stay on the gators then.)
Joe Biden claimed during the election that if a future President Obama went to war without congressional approval he would call for impeachment hearings himself. (I'm still waiting.)
Isn't this the crack-team of second-guessers who derided President Bush for going into Iraq "when the real war is in Afghanistan"? Well, the real war is still in Afghanistan and the Dynamic Duo is heading for Libya.
I'm also wondering how anyone can try to sell the Libya War as preventing genocide, when the same administration sits by and does nothing when civilians are murdered in Iran, Bahrain, Yemen, Syria... I have the same question for a President who went into Bosnia but not Sudan, Rwanda, Ivory Coast...
The one thing we can all bank on is this: as soon as a President begins talking about supporting a UN-led mission- utter failure, defeat, and debacle are the result. Anyone who doubts that should read up on Bosnia and Somalia.
I guess setting up an alibi helps. Giving billions of dollars to support foreign oil drilling while you enforce a drilling embargo on your own nation must have been a ploy to say that this Libya excursion isn't a war for oil.
What happened to the endless tirade of nutjobs shouting "the President lied and people died" and then interrupting every sentence with "Halliburton!" and "Big Oil!"?
I'm all for the President doing whatever it takes to protect US interests. I'm all for deposing dictators everywhere. But if the President wants to be the third Bush term, then grow some cajones and say that's what the plan is. Don't pee down our backs and try to tell us it's raining.

That's just it. They won't.
We can sit here and bash Presidents all we want to, there's no shortage of good reasons to bash every single one of them. But that's the point- the Congress was created to keep the President from thinking he is the King. Congress has failed miserably to put the needs of the citizens above their own desire to gain power or get re-elected. They are so busy using their positions to run a con game on the public that improving the lifes of the citizens is not even a thought.
It's getting time to throw some tea in the water, and I'm not talking about the Tea Party movement.

It'd be interesting to see how fast our 1st Amendment rights would get squashed. Oh wait, they already can: www.prisonplanet.com/obama-can-shut-down-internet-for-4-months-under-new-emergency-powers.html
