After seeing Norm Devio do what Norm Devio does in Buffalo last weekend, I gotta know:
Norm, what does your normal diet look like?

haha it doesnt matter if you eat EGGSACTLY like Norm, you wont pull like him. Not saying anything negative towards you. Norm is just genetically advanced, plain and simple. Granted i know some of his diet and exercise routines and they are rather extra-ordinary, all that mixed with his herculean genes youve got Stormin Norm Devio.

I'm gonna take a wild guess here, but to be in such shape and state of rippedness at that age, you need specific genes, I don't think just anyone can pull it off by eating just like him. We all have a friend or two who can live on junk food and soda and still be scrawny 140# at 6 feet tall, at least into their 30's. I imagined these are the type of guys who could very easily, by merely watching their diet a little bit and working out a few times, could be lean in their 60's and 70's. But those of us who were fat even before our 20's.... LOL, eating like Norm Devio eats is probably not the key to success.

I'm not a classically trained gymnast, but I'd like to get a decent dietary foundation in place.

Scott, thanks for the compliment, but I'm really not that tough. Derrick and Artura, your responses made me smile and feel good about myself. Adam, I have no special diet and no secrets when it comes to food. I eat everything that could be classified as good bad and ugly but in moderation and thats important. I'm fortunate to have a resting high metabolic rate that helps to burn calories without working very hard. If I need to burn more calories, I increase my daily number of push-ups, crunches, pull-ups, dips and add a few miles to my bike ride. Two days a week, I lift specifically for AW and most importantly pull with a few friends Thurs. night. What may be cosidered unusual is that I drink only skim milk [3 meals],water, and welches grage juice and nothing else because I don,t like any thing else. Also no alcohol, tobacco, or drugs because I don't enjoy or need them. I sure sound like a bore, but not to my wife of 47 yrs.

Mr. Devio that was great information. I'm glad I made you smile but I hope you didn't think I was implying that you were just lucky and were at your great condition by mere chance. I knew you still worked out a lot (I remember Gary Roberts's videos at your house where you demonstrated a ton of stuff, including an effortless front lever, etc.), so I wasn't implying you don't work hard to be in such shape. But to be so lean and strong at such advanced age, it's clear to me you gotta be a bit lucky in the genetics department. The no alcohol or drugs thing is admirable though. I just didn't want anyone thinking that if they ate like you, they'd be just like you at your age. You're in formidable shape and are an inspiration though!

You here that kids? NO ALCOHOL.
Quit drinking. You'll make progress. There's no point in training if you're going to ruin it on Friday, Saturday, etc.
