Myself as a person that has grown up competing in on activity or another be it sports, baton twirling, pageants, etc I have always been taught to always be a good looser, but to also be a good winner and not to boast about it too much. Well Saturday I did not exhibit these teachings very well and for that I would like to apologize. I do have to admit that I was very excited and when I won ,after coming through the losers bracket in a very strong womens class, I just let everything our and with me it is very verbal and loud. I have been training and wanted this one so much. I have been going to nationals since 1997 and it seems that I either have to pull up into the heavies or only one person in my class. Well this year I had the pleasure of pulling some women in my class that have been winning alot of tournaments throughout the us and they were also all on the team USA 2010 Team at worlds. So to beat these women was a very big accomplishment. That is why the excitement was so big.
To Elaine, especially, Paula, Jolene , and my fellow armwrestlers that I may have offended by over celebrating I am truly sorry. I do respect you and hope that the way I handled myself has not hindered our armwrestling friendship.
Sincerely,
Christina Casto

Christina, That takes a lot, as a fierce competitor, to admit that you made a mistake. We all are human beings that at certain times allow our emotions to dictate our actions. You set out to accomplish your goals and achieved them. We all as fellow Arm wrestlers respect and admire your success. Your apology also shows your true character! Well done.

Thank you all. I do try to show good sportsmanship and the celebration was not to belittle ANYONE else, it was just simply a reaction to what I had worked very hard to acheive. I had lost my father in March while I was away pulling in the Arnolds and I told myself this year was going to be for him. In everything I do I would do for him to make him proud of me. I always loved to hear him talk about me and my accomplishments and never was I the one to let him or my mother down and that is what I was not going to do. When I thought back on the weekend I was thinking that maybe that was the only thing that I was not proud of and for that I am truly sorry.

You didn't overdo anything. When you put everything you have into something, it's only natural for you to let yourself go when you achieve what you've worked so hard to get. If I would've beaten Vickers, you can bet your ass I would've been screaming like a 12 year old girl. It'll happen soon enough, and I'm sure Gary will be there to capture it in all it's glory. Congrats on your National Title!
