As being a High School football coach for many years I have visited State College many times over the years and Joe is a great coach and a better person. I just can not understand how this fell through the cracks since the first report. He is getting most of the blame because he is Penn State, But the receivers coach that reported it should of been man enough to stop the incident when he walked in on it.

You guys would know for a fact your coworker was raping little boys? Caught in the act? And continue to work with the guy because you did your part by telling someone, once?
What do you say to your pedophile coworker every day after that?
I wonder if the people defending Paterno are the same people who blame the Pope for not taking action against pedophile priests.
If Paterno was worth dog **** stuck under a shoe he would have done anything necessary to run that child molester out of football.

In case anyone doesn't know, the guy was caught raping a ten year old child in the anus in the team shower.
At that point, anyone who would not kill that monster with a mop handle on the spot is just about as guilty in my book. Oh, you told coach? And he told someone offline on the down low? He'll, those two may as well lined up and took a turn on the child. I see no difference.
But I guess if you are Paterno, if a few little boys have to get sodomized by a coach to keep the win streak going, well we've all got to make sacrifices in life don't we.
I hope somebody lines these a$$hole$ up and takes a flamethrower to them one and all.

How do you continue working with the guy and have him involved with your program? Sorry James, their is no excuse. Joe needs to be fired!!

I'm not familiar with the "whole" story. Did Pa report it and still work with the guy? Regardless, the filthy jerk that did "it" would've had his a$$ whipped right there on the spot.

I too, read the 23 pages AND Joe "Pa"...UGH, Deserves EVERYTHING coming to him...Same with sandusky, mcreary ( sp/) ( he should go to jail with sandusky), the president and AD, who perjured themselves and covered it up. Prediction: sandusky OFFs himself with in 2 months..He better...Its better then whats awaiting him, even if he is in PC........... sandusky, the heir apparent to Joe, retired at 55 suddenly ( ?) in 99 ...Funny, this first came to light in a 98 incident. Also, there was a 99 incident. AND then the FAMOUS 02 shower incident, were the 28 yr old, LARGE former football player ( mcreary (sp/) ), Grad student, who was bringing sneakers into the locker room, heard "slapping" noices coming from the SHOWERS in Joes football locker rm, at 9 30 at night..When he entered the shower, he witnessed what appeared to him be a boy about 10 yrs old, with his arms pinned against the wall, and sandusky having anal sex with the boy..So instead of stopping it, or going to Joe, he called his daddy. Who told his son to come over the house...daddy then told his son to call Joe... Daddy had to tell him? REALLY? His Daddy? he was 28 yrs old. 3 things all Joe needed to hear: 55 yr old man, shower, boy....Now Joe IS Penn St..And your going to say that Joe had no power to BAN his former heir apparent from the campus? Besides calling the President and AD, he should've at least followed up on what they did, if he didn't... 07 another incident ON campus with sandusky and a minor..... How about Joe calling the trustees on sanduskys charities FOR CHILDREN, and letting them know what was happening? sandusky was a non paid asst coach at a local high school and was caught several times "wrestling" in areas where there were no wrestling mats with minors. sandusky, when caught, said he was teaching the boys wrestling moves, he didn't coach wrestling....THOSE PEOPLE,who witnessed those incidents, ALSO, should "pay' for not notifing anyone on what they saw. Joe, such a good CATHOLIC man...CATHOLIC...Hmmmm..Does this sound familiar?...CATHOLIC church, pedophile Priests?..Anyone?..Anyone? NUFF SAID..NO NEED TO SAY MORE

from CNN: "Sandusky, who was arrested Saturday, is accused of sexual offenses, child endangerment and "corruption of a minor" involving eight boys, most or all of whom he met through The Second Mile, the charity he founded to help troubled youths, prosecutors said. Sandusky's involvement with The Second Mile provided him with access to "hundreds of boys, many of whom were vulnerable due to their social situations," the grand jury said. The former coach is said to have engaged in fondling, oral and anal sex with boys over at least 15 years, according to the investigative grand jury's summary of testimony. Sandusky served 23 years as defensive coordinator for the Nittany Lions football team before retiring in 1999. Free on $100,000 bail, he has been accused of sexually abusing boys between 1994 and 2009." - so they know that it goes back to 1994 (at least). So I wonder, why did McQueary go into the locker room and catch Sandusky. Great timing. Were they all nervous whenever this creep was on campus and possibly went to check on him? What a coincidence, no? Why would I make such an accusation that they all possibly knew this guy was a predator? Because it looks like Sandusky's retirement was a cover-up for previous molestations. From Madden, the guy who has been breaking the story: "Madden also claimed Sandusky was forced out of Penn State in 1999. "I think you'll find out that Jerry Sandusky was told he had to retire in exchange for a cover up." Sandusky retired at 55 in 1999, a year after Pennsylvania police investigated (but did not prosecute) him for allegedly molesting a boy. Read more: articles.businessinsider.com/2011-11-10/sports/30381212_1_child-molester-madden-claims-jerry-sandusky#ixzz1dP8ERXqjThe reason I can't give Paterno a pass is because he called the Athletic Director when McQueary told him he just caught Sandusky raping a child. The F'N ATHLETIC DIRECTOR. Not the cops. Not even the campus police. Man- Paterno KNEW. They were protecting the school and the football program instead of protecting the kids. Children were being destroyed and instead of worrying about that, people are worried about an 85 year old coach losing his coaching gig. Who gives a FLYING crap about Joe Paterno? Why? Because he is a succesful football coach? If Joe Paterno was a Cub Scout Leader and knew what he knew about a fellow scout leader, people would be lynching him as we speak.

911 works. It's even faster than calling your pal who oversees the campus rent a cops ten day later.
I'm not spinning anything. I simply don't care one iota that Joe Paterno is a football coach. In this instance he failed a kid who needed help, and I hope that's all he's complicit in.
I simply can't see it any other way. I'm sorry to the Paterno fans out there, but there's only one tragedy here, and that tragedy is a kid's innocence was sacrificed for a football program because the people who could have helped him did nothing.

An "eye for an eye" in my book when it comes to this. Anyone with a kid probably feels the same way.
