The other thread was closed so I started a new one...
Andy and Engin, I mixed it up... I thought it was with right arm, but it was the left. You can read about it at that page I linked to:
"110+ KG Gary Goodridge had little trouble winning the first place gold. Second went to Robert Brown of England."
What I remember it wasn't "little trouble"!! It was a LONG match, several minutes. I can get it online later so you can see it if you want. Gary tried several times to end the match with his hook, but Robert was too strong. Gary won after a long battle.

Damn... I just realized that I mixed it up again.. ;D. I just watched the tape from -93 and as you said, Engin... Gary played with him. The match I'm thinking of is Gary's semi final at the worlds in Houston -90. He had a long semi final with right arm against John Smith from USA. Don't ask me how I could mix it up like this... he he.

All the Armbender says is that Craig almost pulled out a Gold medal but you won in the straps. If memory serves you guys had a pretty good match before you slipped. I've been going through old videos so I'll have to double check. Christian, You're right, the story was printed in the Armbender. Written, courtesy of Jay Ranade from India.
