Leonard or Denise, did I read the dates right? Is the USAA and the USAF Nationals on the same day? If so, why would this happen like this? Is the triple crown not going to happen anymore?

Well Willie, obviously USAF has no respect for other associations. The USAA National Pro-Am has been on this date in CT at the Europa Fitness EXPO for several years now. I didn't notice until you pointed it out. We've had it on the calendar since September so there is no way they can plead ignorance. The responsiblity for this is 100% the fault of USAF, the original date (voted on & approved by the USAF Executive board) was not the 28th & 29th. It appears that the USAF moved the date to the same weekend as USAA recently. I expect to get an explanation from USAF.

Without question this is regrettable and it is not done out of a lack of respect for the USAA. The original dates were changed some months ago but we did not formalize them to the public to ensure it was final. The UAL who is hosting the event was confronted by a conflict with the Host hotel and venue against the original dates that they had no choice but to accommodate.
Candidly when the new dates were represented before the posting I did not know that they overlapped the historical USAA event nor did the host, we simply missed it, regardless we were not really presented with options on this matter.
If you are paying attention to this sport you are aware that it is changing dramatically and at times in a most unpredictable way. Like with anything our lack of true unity in armwrestling has led to limits in communication, conflicts and subsequently divergent paths, as unique opportunities present themselves. This is going to continue to make the calendar and in reality the sport more and more complicated.
My personal apologies to the USAA or any athlete that will struggle with the conflicting dates, it simply could not be helped. We wish them the very best with their event.

Simon Berriochoa Unfortunately Simon this is just the latest of a series of UAL stepping on other events. As a promoter if I have a conflict with a date and someone else's events....... I call them. When setting something as important as the Unified we all were very aware of what tournament dates are happening. We never set one on AAA's dates and times, it was always a consideration of who was doing what. This type of arrogance is exactly why USAA left the board. Quite a payback thanks

Won't be making this as I hold Minnesota States this day, and can't change the date. if that weren't the case I'd definitely go to this one over Unifieds because this was scheduled first

Last year there was some confusion about having Novice/Masters on Friday and Pro/AM on Saturday, is everything being run on Saturday this year?

Last year there was some confusion about having Novice/Masters on Friday and Pro/AM on Saturday, is everything being run on Saturday this year? Masters and Novice must weigh in on Friday only. they start competing at 9 am on Saturday. The pro amateur weight classes can weigh in either Friday night or Saturday morning. Denise will be doing weigh ins for the Pro & Amateur classes while I am running the Masters and Novice classes. Busy day with 4 tables running.
