I just want to mention the great sportsmanship Dawn showed when in the mist of her pain she reached out to Valerie who was quite distressed from the injury to let her know she will be okay and that these things can happen in the sport. Many of you know that the trauma of an arm break goes both ways and even into the crowd

I know one thing when something like that happens it deffinately goes well beyond just the two competitors. I know I won't be able to referee another woman's match for quite a while.. I just keep seeing it play in my head over and over.. Don't wish that on anyone.. All my prayers are with you Dawn!!!

Hi Dawn, So sorry to hear about your injury... hopefully you will be getting the right "treatment"... If you love this sport as I do, you'll be back on the table in no time. Oh, and welcome to the "arm break" club... one member to another.... Good luck, Elaine

Yes, unfortunately, Dawn Thomas (PA) broke her right arm with a spiral fracture. Reportedly, her arm was set and cast Saturday night, and then sent home. I was also told that it appeared that NO surgery would be necessary, which is as good of news as you can get in this situation. Best wishes to Dawn for a speedy recovery.
