Holy F, if u don’t like a tourneys weight classes just don’t go. Period. Plenty of tourneys to pick from. I used to pull 54’s and id pull tourneys with 0-165 and 0-176 classes also. It’s a good way to test yourself. People that bitch about weight classes are pansies, just hoping for a more watered down class so as to obtain a medal more easily. And I don’t care if people think I’m being mean, if the truth hurts then so be it.
On the other hand I gotta say those are some sick supermatches!!!

Hey thanks for the kind words. Being Brand new to the sport and only weighing 150 on a good day I figured it was a logical question. Well seeing how you of a PRO status and seeing how you are boasting about being the National champion with all of your accomplishments one would figure that you would be a ambassador for the sport you love but instead you find the need to slander people who are asking legitimate questions. I guess your right! there is know need to attend this event.

Most events have a 0-155 bracket, something may come together at or close to the event if enough light guys enter then they will make a bracket. Make no mistake EVERYONE bitchES ABOUT WEIGHTS! Pro or Amatuer, come down and check this event out either way it will be a screamer! You won't find a nicer group of savages on the planet.

Sean - starting out, if a tournament you want to do has for example only two novice / amateur classes but has 0-154 open / pro, you should pull the novice classes even if you are under weight. I had the same question 10 years ago and took this advice.
Tell them it's your first tournament, pay close attention to the rules, warm up with a pro and try to connect with a team. It's true that as you progress, it's good to pull heavier classes even as you start to pull pro at your weight.
I live at 154, pulling pro for several years, just pulled a tournament 0-171 pro and won a match each hand, then got crushed by guys I know weight less than 160. This happens all the time. I had a blast, and I don't have to be a national champ to enjoy this great sport. You never know what's going to happen, because the mix of skills, strength, size, and experience fill the spectrum. Welcome to armwrestling - enjoy your novice experience and best wishes.
