Where's the 154 division ?? Wals gone!! Hey, I always run the same set of weight classes at all of my “standard” tournaments. While Running 4 classes, these are the ones that I found to be best for this area. There aren’t a lot of 54 pullers out here, and the ones that are 54 usually walk around in the 160’s so are fine with not having to cut for a local event. If I ran a 54 class I would have less lightweight entries overall - sometimes none at all even - and would have to change the other classes also, as 155-190 would be way to huge of a gap. At Minnesota States I run 5 classes for pro and 4 for novice and I do have a 54 for pro.... and novice then gets the 4-weight class set that I use for pro here. This is just my standard weight class sets. I assume you know that 165 isn’t a class WAL originated but a weight class used by WAF/AAA ect? It isn’t an uncommon class to have at events; I used my weight class sets long before WAL came around
