About the importance of sleep. Several recent studies show that sleep is important. Excessive responsibilities and too short a day often end up with a lack of sleep. Unfortunately, it has long been known that such situations negatively affect our well-being and health. This is also confirmed by a number of new studies examining sleep in several different aspects. We have already written several times about the necessity and value of sleep. We pay attention to what happens in our brain while we sleep, and even to the terrible consequences of sleep deprivation associated with a strange deadly hereditary disease. However, since health is most important, and a pleasant sleep, we will devote some more time to it. Moreover, two research projects analyzing this phenomenon are currently being carried out with EU funding. At the neuronal level, sleep in humans is almost the same as in animals. Thanks to this fact, in order to learn something about the whole process, you can study individual neurons in mice or rats. To find out how sleep deprivation at night actually affects our cognitive abilities, a group of researchers is studying the results of two groups of rodents. The first control group is placed in normal conditions, where everyone sleeps and gets up when he wants. These results are compared with the results of the second group, in which the animals were protected from falling asleep. After analyzing the statement, it turned out that the differences in test results were visible only during very detailed tasks aimed at noticing small differences between the elements.
