I have an idea for spreading Arm-wrestling. To make an intermural sport of it at the college level. I have started this process in my own way by starting an arm-wrestling club at the college I go to. If willing Arm-Wrestlers did presentations for the different college campus', including show those that are interested how they could help the cause and possibly start a club at their college. I think this would show positive results and would appreciate opinions on how to make such an idea work or if it's even practical.

Tony,
I recently graduated from the Universtity of the Arts in Philly. Armwrestling totally appeals to college students, every single party I found myself surrounded by a crowd pulling any knucle-head with a buzz thinking he was superman. Some of these clowns actually thought they had a chance, but they couldn't even do anything with two arms! The news spread pretty quickly.
Your club is great, keep up the good work!

Anytime you need a hand with your group, Tony, just let me and Chris Comstock know and we'll give you any support you need. ;D Keep up the great work man, your interest in this sport is motivational for me. I think organizing something promotional for the sport is a great way to start.
PS. If you can't find any tables let me know I'll let you borrow mine for the semester. You will get more use out of it with your group then I will by myself up in Milton. So let me know.

Hey Rob, armwrestling in college is definatley very popular!
My buddy Chris Comstock came down to my old college in Rutland and brought my armwrestling table with him. I challenged anyone at my college to defeat Chris Comstock either arm and I offered to pay them $100 out of my pocket (I did this as an incentive to get people to show up). Several people tugged on Chris's arms but noone moved him all night. It certainly created a stir for armwrestling for the rest of the school year. I think college is a great time and place to promote the sport.

I think that is an awesome idea ! Even through all the efforts to get interests, be sure to point out the safety aspects to these new guys getting into it. Even though they are in college, it doesn't mean they have the common sense of what can go wrong; namely armbreaks. I think the Amway way is an excellent contrivance to get it to spread. ... Get one in and he gets two in, those two get others in it, etc., etc.

One of our armwrestlers here is Washington is teaching high school aged kids at the local health club. He has them sign up for the program just like any other class they might like to attend.

That may be another great idea to get a few volunteer pros to come up and lead a clinic/training of sorts to give them pointers on safe pulling and strength training.
