Simon .... your too funny! ;D
Thanks for your email too!
Engin ..... Thanks.....I bet you would be ready! I am sure the rest of the guys would hate me if I could give you my spot at the Arnold's. If I could ... then you would be a great choice to stir the pot of armwrestlers that would be there. Its a great tournament Engin....and you should make sure that you qualify for it next year.
By the way...how is your fingers coming along .... hopefully healing up well. I was sorry to hear about that because you always like to see the top guys at 100%. Hopefully it will be like some injuries you can have that heal up stronger than they were before.
What is next for you anyways.... what is your next goal to accomplish in this sport?
By the way it is pretty cool hearing from you guys on the other side of the world (such as yourself, Neil, Charlie ) it makes the world seem that much closer together.
Take care....

Engin ...... That's is great that your fingers are getting better.
I cannot begin to understand the problems you are having with your Country involving our sport. We are not even reckonized by our Country to even be a amature sport yet. We have no support at all when it comes to even getting money from our government ... it is all on our own accord and love for the sport that we continue to compete in it.
To have World champions and world class competitors in your Country and lose the support from your government that you used to have is very sad. I thought that if I could get a number of people to email your government to stand behind you this would help....but from the sounds of things it would only complicate things more for you.
Engin .... What would you like the rest of the armwrestling world to do to help your situation? The internet is a good sorce to get support from if we can be of help. Let us know!
Also with Babayev.... is it true that he get paid to train like a job for armwrestling? I heard and I do not know if it is true or not .... that Babayev and others train 8 hour a day for armwrestling. If this is true it would certianly put them on a whole different plateau of strength for our sport. I mean ... I might train a couple of hours a week for this but how can that even come close to the that amount of training and force to go up against at the table.
Does he have a brother? or is it a type "o" on the European results in 2003....where it is listed that Ruslan and Rustam Babayev were the winner/winners of the 70kg and 78kg classes. Or is this the same guy winning both? Either way it is quite a feat to beat that many guys in those classes.
Engin ... Good luck with your progress and keep us informed .... you have a world of friends out here that are more than willing to help you out.
Also thanks for your kind comments

Vern, the problem s not money.the problem is we can not compete even if we want to compete by spending our own money.at the Springfield worlds we competed with our own.i even used a fake name to not get suspended by our federation.from 1993 to 1998 i spent everything i have just to compete all around the world.US and Canada are not the countries that are a few hundred miles far from my home.i did come to these countries just because of my love for armwrestling and for trying to be one of the best in armwrestling.
armwrestling in your country is under the control of ppl who love this sport very much.in my country its different.ppl who control us have never had nothing to do with armwrestling.they dont care about it.they just get paid monthly and most of the times they do their best to stop us competing.i even gave a letter to the our prime minister to help us.after we do this he rebukes the ppl who control us and these ppl do even worse to us because of their madness.
about Rustam getting paid i dont have much info.training 8 hours a day doesnt seem as a good idea to get stronger unless he s not a human.yes he does have a brother and his name s Ruslan Babaev.he took 1.in last years european in my class.and took 10.place again in my class this year's europeans.last year's eurpean was another sad story:).the guy that took 3. place in our class at Springfield worlds was my first match.he s from Finland, his name s Timo Mikkola.i easily beat him in Springfield even i had an elbow surgery just a few months before that time.we had 30 guys in our class at Germany europeans.he was my first and i toprolled his wrist and pinned him after 3 or 4 seconds and ref gave me two elbow fouls at the end and sent me to the losers at the first round.then i beat 8 guys in a row to reach to the semi final match against the Russian who took 7. place behind me in the Canada worlds.it was my 10. and his 5. match.i pinned him in a second and ref gave me elbow foul, then i pinned him again he slipped his hand from even below the pin pad but ref called it strap.and in the strap i lost because i couldnt even feel my hand.and the Russian lost to Ruslan Babaev after me and Ruslan took 1. place.but this year he took 10. place in the 75kg class.

Engin .... Once again all I can say is that I am very sorry to here what is going on over there and for what you have to go thru. The voice of many is a powerful thing....so if you think that all of us other armwrestler's world wide can help in any way then just let us know. Thanks for your answer about Ruslan as well .... it would still be interesting to know how much this guy trains. If anyone has a chance at beating him at this point ... you would be the most likely candidate for doing it. One day once I'm healthy again and feeling a 100% than I would like that challenge as well ;D Keep fighting for what you want and by all means remember your armwrestling family is here if you need us!
