The pro matchup with the $100 entry fee never happened. The upstate guys showed up and pulled well in the regular tournament. John R. took 1st left handed, Rob Sasso took 3rd right handed. The 175 class was won by Rich Calero from the Bronx (who will be making his way up to practice soon with the Supers winner Shaun Freeman from Queens) Sean Ringgold took second in the supers. Vepkvia's protege Alex Josowitz took second and Scotty Latella took 3rd. (note- Scotty would have won if Gene Camp would buy a real armwrestling table). Rich Calero went relatively unchallenged left-handed though Benji Dwyer (giving up like 30 pounds) did give him one really good match and managed to fight his way into second place. The other classes were really light with competitors so I am not sure. Oh by the way Bob Buttafuco may be coming up to practice with us soon. It was nice to see Bobby again and I told him we would support his sit-down tournament he is planning for later this year.

James, please don't get PC on me now ;D.. Yes the table took me out of my game, but it was like shooting hoop on a 11 foot rim , same game it just takes time to adjust.. I don't think I could have beaten Richard Calero. Those type of fast choppers it takes me 3-4 times to figure them out.. I hope to pull him better next time. As for Alex, He's good. My arm was burned out by then so I await to pull him fresh, plus he's a little to cocky for me. If your reading this Alex, nice pull but you will not beat me next time. You can't handle my hand. And I won't scream in your face when I beat you. Humble Pie is best served coooooool..

Hey Scoot, just so you know, the last time I saw Rich Calero lose was by the hand of
Ron Klemba

I bet you that Klemba and I will have the match of the Day at the Can-Ams.. I'm not saying that I'll beat him yet , I'm just saying that My magic 8 ball/ Klemba doll says " pull till you pass out"

I agree, the reffing was not on the money, no offense Franky & Bobby, it's not an easy job, but too many off starts, & missed fouls... oh & someone needs to tell Gene to start weighing guys in with a "scale", not by a distorted eye, it's not fair for a lighter guy to have to pull a heavier guy, unless he chooses to!
