WAH WAH WAH Oh no, I have to pull someone more then 20-30 pounds then me!!!! Oh GOD What am I going to do? ? So its was fair that I at 290, had to pull Cleve Dean at 495. Or Paul Walther at the 2001 AAA Nats having to pull Cleve at 250. Thats fair? He NEVER complained!!!!!!! You are all a bunch of wusses. I remember John Brzenk crying when he had to pull Cleve ( in his prime mind you ), Norton, and Lupkes. Or Cobra crying when he pulled, and BEAT Goodrich. Or Dave Patton crying when he would pull supers at 165. THEN FIND ANOTHER SPORT...MAYBE CHESS OR BADMITTON, THERE YOU GO, BADMITTON, ISN'T THAT AN OLYMPIC SPORT?

hmmm....easy to say when you are 295! Yes, those names are the freaks of our sport, and can overcome that size differance. I am not afraid to pull anyone, but to say giving up 20 or more pounds is fair is hard to understand. most every single sport that involves man to man strength has weight classes. Wrestling, boxing, weightlifting, even ultimate fighting now. I would have no chance against someone your size Christian, you are way to big, and strong. Plus the hand size is tough to beat, I pull a guy in training with a huge hand, and it is hard. I have pulled and beat a fair share of big guys, but when skill levels are the same, the bigger man will usually win. BTW, have a good Thanksgiving! I hope to be up your way this winter, I would love to train with your gang!

Engin, I have been meaning to ask you, were you at the CAN-AM's in 1999? That is where I met Christian, and I think you were there, but I could be wrong. I remember someone lighter, your size, who beat most everyone there of all weights. Not many guys that can do that at that level, so thats why I'm thinking it was you. Peace

Jim, I never said you where afraid. Then stay in the class were you feel you can do better in. A lot of the times sizes doesn't matter in armwrestling. Isn't that what everyone says. EX: 97 Petaluma. Super heavyweight winner, JASON VALE at 185 lbs His hand isn't huge. James Retarides hand isn't huge and he isn't a huge guy, YET since dedicating himself full time to the sport he has jumped leaps and bounds. AND has won tournaments in the 242 and supers class. And he is no Brzenk, Cobra, or Patton....YET ENGIN, how many classes did you pull in and WIN that time in the midwest a few years ago? SO either stay down, or PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE OR pick another sport

Engin, Then people should train harder. James Retarides is a GREAT example of that. I thought this is for the TOP rankings? Funny how everyone says that since I broke my arm i got SO much better. Well It had nothing to do with that. Its from the dedication EVERYDAY to armwrestling that has made me pretty good. PLEASE with your little left....LOL...LOL...Anytime with the left...BUT its good that you have such fantasies.

I like pulling armwrestlers bigger than me, especially with bigger hands because it gets comfortable after a while. Reggie Ward has asked me why I try to toproll him rather than using a move more to my strength and I tell him it is because it will make me a better toproller. If I can toproll with his hand or at least feel a little more comfortable gripping up with it, other peoples' hands will feel less intimidating. I am not sure of your normal weight Jim, but I would recommend pulling in heavier weight classes at local tournaments.

James, I usually pull 198 and heavys, for that reason. I may not take first place by pulling both classes, but I like to have more matches and better work. I couldnt agree more with what you said. I like pulling big guys because you have nothing to lose! At first glance, nobody expects you to win, so if you do, its great, and if not, its not such a big deal. I have beat more big guys with speed then a strong arm. Christian, you are right as well, I need to put more into it and less into lifting. I have done bench meets and armwrestling meets in the same month, which is dumb. You have worked yourself into a champ by your hard work, and you deserve it! You know Jim Walkiewcz I train with, now thats a big hand! I do better inside with someone like that, my hand is not that great:(
