I am sitting here in Charley torn Daytona and upon finally getting both the electricity and cable turned back had the opportunity to flip on the Olympics. Is anyone else as aggravated as I am to see sports featured and included such as 4 man Badminton...10 k walking...and...Women trampoline jumping? I thing that we as pullers need to look at the 2 WAF presidents and evaluate and replace if necessary their positions. They should be absolutely disgusted and embarrassed that they can't get our sport included. It has to be either a lack of effort or lack of competency and either way they should be replaced. We need to get the head of the American jumping Jack association to run our 2 WAF's and then maybe we will be included in the Olympics next time around!

When I watch the Olympics and see them do the back story of the main players and what it took for them to get to Athens. I couldn't help imagining how great a story you could tell when this sport ever does get the recognition it should.
Could you imagine yourself training for the Olympics? That would be awesome.

Having John B taking on any of the Russian contenders for the Gold would be so much more interesting than Allen Iverson choking up a jump shot! It is 100 % a lack of competent people applying for entry that is the problem.

Well Chris, they are seriously putting " long distance swimming " into the Olympics. Saw that one on t.v. the other night, made me sick to my stomach! Hell bodybuilding has been recogonized by the IOC as a " sport " . BODYBUILDING? ? Are they kidding? ? Its a f###ing beauty contest. How about ballroom dancing, womens wrestling. How did these " sports " get in? How do they get unification, and enough countries in such a short period of time for the IOC to recognize them. How long has armwrestling been around?? JESUS CHRIST!!!!!! The " politics " of Armwrestling is a JOKE. We finally just only got unification in Europe and Asia. We, the U.S.A. STILL have 2 Nationals, 2!!!!! What a joke!!!!! With 1 World next year in Japan. We don't even know which associations rules will apply, either W Armsport F or W Armwrestling F. AND THEN they, AAA and USA are STILL supposedly are going to have a National. And we take the winners from each Assoc to go to the 1 World. Will there still be different rules and weight classes? Yet 1 World? ?? When does all of this get decided. In Brazil or South Africa? Am I wrong, please tell me if I am, that while in Ottawa ( W ARMWRESTLING F) Japan got the 2005 Worlds. RIGHT? So now if Japan is the ONLY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP next year. THEN shouldn't W ARMWRESTLING rules apply? Right? THEN WHY is the W Armwrestling F playing around with AAA and the W ARMSPORT F? Why would we still have 2 Nationals with 2 different set of rules. Yet go to 1 World. IF you leave it, those who go to AAA and W Armsport F will HAVE to go to Unified Nats or Japan for a Nat title or World Title. Why is this so difficult? What we can't live without the AAA and W armsport F athletes and " the powers to be "? When W ARMWRESTLING F was formed not many people or Countries went. NOW LOOK. Can anyone tell me what Olympic Sport in this Country has 2 different Associations and 2 different Nationals ? Thinking about this " sport ' unifying or getting into the Olympics makes my stomach turn!!!!!!!!!

Women's Trampoline, I want to throw up.......there is absolutely no reason why armwrestling should not be in the olympics, it is the oldest sport on the face of the earth. SOMETHING IS NOT BEING DONE, and WHATEVER IS BEING DONE IS NOT ENOUGH

I get asked all the time if armwrestling is an Olympic sport and the follow up question is then, "Why not?" Armwrestling fits very well with the Greek ideal of "mano a mano" competition. No swimming pool, tennis court, basketball court, etc needed, and that may be at least part of our problem. We don't have a product that can be sold to make alot of money. Of course I don't think I want to go all the way back to armwrestling in the nude! Heck we can't even get sponsorship for the US TEAM from a sports suppliment company. ( Although Met-RX has been very good to me in the past, they go with the World's Strongest Man because of the TV coverage) I think the TV coverage for armwrestling that had started to strengten once again, may very well be the key to success, ie building up a fan base. I do however see the duel US organizations as the biggest problem, that is at least what we have been told in the past, and hopefully they will be coming together in the near future. I have heard that we also need to come up with the money for drug testing, so that we can prove that we are presenting a "clean" sport to the Olympics. Can anyone confirm or deny this? But is sure burns me up when I see synchronized diving and think armwrestling should be there instead!

Armwrestling has been supported by armwrestlers for so long that its hard to change that. Although with the technology to cover matches and capture the intensity, it is easier and much more exciting to watch. We also need to sell the space you see on camera as they do in other sports. (advertisements on shirts, hats, tables, backdrop etc.) Sponsors should be approached and informed of the audience and potential

YOU Naked? Uh I think thats a sight ONLY your wife has to see! If Ballroom dancing, trampoline jumping, and long distance swimming can get the funds to drug test, I think there can be some way that armwrestling can come up with the funds too. Oh yeah that would mean less money in the pockets of the powers to be, since these Associations are private businesses!!!

Hey Christian, Have you gone to the Pinnacle site and looked at the Olympic information there? They did a lot of work compiling information.

Who knows why we cannot get in, I too think it has a great deal with the lack of focused and purposeful effort to do so, as Leonard indicated there is a lot of info on the Pinnacle site on the subject, but I still cannot believe some of these “Olympic sports” have the backing to get in. Frankly I am appalled by the events that are in, 10 meter air rifle, had I known as a kid I would have taken my BB gun sessions a bit more seriously. White water kayaking if you have to build that complicated of course to do it that should be the reason enough to exclude it. Doubles table tennis amazed me, 2 guys on each side to cover that small of an amount game area, why not 4 each side it will never end. Hell I am even fed up with looking at how many different swimming events there are, if the doggy paddle had a better name you can bet it would be an event, has anybody ever seen anyone doing the butterfly outside of swim competition, what in the hell is the point of this stroke? How about “hey here is the distance, swim what ever stroke you want as fast as you can”, they have this litany of judges reviewing every aspect of the race, if you “dolphin kicked” etc anything that subjective should be rethought.

Hey Leonard. Yes I looked at it again. And? Unification. Aren't we " ALMOST " there? If the AAA keeps going, it will just die ( my opinion ). Do we really need them? Aren't Europe and Asia unified? Isn't there going to be 1 World next year with doping, like the Europeans are doing next year? Who is paying for those tests? Are the Europeans and Worlds privately owned businesses? Just asking, don't know.
