First lets look at the real score ( 26-5 ). So you have to win 21.. Yes 21 world series to catch us !!!
Second if you don't beat the ( cards or houston ) beating us doesn't even count .. HAHAHAHAA..
Third I do think they will win.. Hate to say it but they are the best team..

BOSTON WON. YANKEES LOST. It doesn't matter what happened last year, all that counts is this year, the here and now. It doesn't matter who the Red Sox play in the World Series, they will beat either. As for saying that either team can be the Red Sox, well doesn't that then make the Yankees 4th in Baseball. 180 million payroll to be only the 4th best in baseball this year, hmmm, maybe for next year they can spend 250 million for maybe say a 3rd place.. ;D Doesn't matter, the Red Sox won and the Yankees lost. To a Boston fan, it doesn't get any better than this.

I tip me hat off to the Red Sox ( yes I am a Yankees fan) your team is having a great year. And as for the payroll comment, just remember that 1: most of the Yankees victories occurred before free agency existed 2: The Red Sox come in a close second for spending the most and 3: check the roster of the Red Sox and see how much some of your players make. Good luck in the playoff
P.S. I agree with those that think that the curse is BS

While I do agree with Andy that all that counts is this year.. What makes this such a great victory and historic win is the long history of baseball and the good and bad history of each team, thats why Boston wants to beat the Yanks so bad , because they are the greatest team of all sports..
Payroll-- hey King George is playing by the rules that are set before him.. He did get them to 4 ws before the 90's when the rules were different..
Boston has to win the ws for the curse to be lifted!!! Remember in 1986 when the yanks were 3 games out and went into fenway in late sept and got killed. Sox said the curse was done then and opps we all know how that ended..
Boston did have more heart this year and once A-Rod tried to cheat in game 6 I knew it was over..I'm a Yankee fan to the bone but cheating is No-Good..
Good luck to All the sox fans, I have to go call George and help him get some left handed pictures for next year..

Hey guys it is not my intent to toss crap at the Yankees. Yes they have a great dynasty and Boston would love to have some of the past glory that only New York can brag about. The rivalry is awesome and that is what makes it so exciting. New York will be back next year as tough as ever no matter what changes are made over the winter. But for today, we bathe in the glow of sweet victory. Especially when it comes from our arch rivals. As far as I'm concerned they all make too much money, but hey if my boss wanted to pay me more, I wouldn't say no.

I don't think A-rod could fit all his skin creams and makeup into such a small bag, Kurt.
