Minus the abortion and gay marriage issues...Can a Christian be a Democrat as well?
Maybe its a stupid question but I am ignorant when it comes to politics... The little bit I do know, I seem to lean more towards the Democratic views(besides the 2 issues above)
Just a question, please dont eat me alive. I would like to know peoples views...

Harold, it is simple. Go to the polls and pull the red lever on every issue. That's what James R. is doing. Hope all is well with you and yours.

Harold Yes ;D. I think in this day and age we have to almost take the lesser of two evils. I find it hard to believe that anyone is 100% accross the board on every issue of the canidate that they support. We can only look at each canidate and if most of his views match ours then pull the lever if not your left with the other guy. As far as abortion, this is a no win issue. It's 2004 with billions on this earth and there really is no way to police abortion if it was made ilegal. I think both side need to see this and put all our efforts into education and prevention so that the choice is not on the table.. P.S. I got your back.

Thanks Scott, I dont feel so alone on the issue now. Most of my Christian buddies are for Bush and I just cant see any reason for me to follow his leadership. Bush reminds me of your typical slime ball car salesman... I cant take anything he says serious.

Harold, I have great respect for you not blindly following Bush as do so many Christians. The presidential election is not religeous it is political. One of our founding principles is that of freedom of religion. It does not belong being brought back into politics. Bush has been a terrible president and reelecting him because he is a christian or against abortion would be heinous act. Presidents have to be elected on their platform of stances not just one stance.you have to pick who you most identify with because no candidate will cover every base Christopher Myers I am a felon so therefore I have lost my privilge to vote I never knew its value untill I lost it. use yours wisely

Cris, can you ever get that privilege back. I don't know how that part of the system works. If not, it's terrible that someone that is politically smart is being silenced for past errors.

I am curious what people think now, it struck me as very interesting that the call out polls at the various states that became the focus of the race all listed morals as the top presidential concern over homeland security, jobs, the economy, the war in Iraq. When have the Dems ever lost an election based upon not being as religious as the republican? I don't mean this in an insulting way, historicly the bible belt and other large religious pockets have sided with the Dems.

Obviously i disagree with the idea of religion not being in politics. if religion is not in politcs then were do we get or morals and ethics? What is wrong with teaching our kids that it is wrong to kill? and if we just teach them not to they will ask why not? and some will think its ok its just ilegal, so as long as they dont get caught then there good to go. thats bull!
this nation was founded on the freedom of religion not discriminating anyones personal religoin, but do a study on the founding fathers and you will see there main purpose and goal was the establishment of this great nation with the power and support of Jesus Christ.
Almost everyone of them qouted the bible and procalimed the name of jesus. not just a god or your own beliefs or any of that garbage. and especially not in the name of politics. politics doesnt bless america.
God Bless America.
and thats with a capitol "G" specifying a particualr god
