Ok I've got one for ya.... Did you know that Easter is named after a pagan goddess?? The name "Easter" derives from the Anglo-Saxon goddess Eostre, who governed the vernal equinox. A little random history trivia for ya there ;D Oh great I think I might've just turned this conversation religious now

yep, you did
The origin of Christmas is pagan to, well the date we celebrate and the christmas tree anyway.. Jesus was actually born in september. Christmas and X-mas are to different things X-mas is not an abreviation. X-mas is the secular version of Christmas.
Jeremiah 10:2. Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. 3. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. 4. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
These people the bible is talking about believed that becuase during the winter the days got shorter that eventualy the sun would go away forever and they would all freeze and that the evergreen tree had miraculous powers and gave them hope for survival. So they cut it down and brought it in their home and worshiped the tree and decorated it with silver and gold.
The greeks later adapted this and decorated the tree with ornaments of thier Gods.
Here is a trivia Christmas question........
How many wise men visited Jesus in the manger?

That's not very challenging. Unless its an answer that is different from the tradition.

I know that Christmas became a national holiday in 1890 in the United States. ;D But here's a tougher question: Can you name the seven archangels? ?

very good ;D u so smawt
In fact the wise men that did visit him came to him when he was two years old at his house. The only reason Jesus was born in a manger was becuase there was no room in the Inn. The wise men that brought him gifts Theologians believe were at least 50 of them and atleast one of them had a caravan (wich was probably a chevy) full of these three types of gifts. I dont have a clue where theologians would get this information im just telling you what i heard about that. dont take it to the bank.
In the bible there are only three angels mentioned by name in the bible Gabriel, the messenger, Micheal the warrior, and Lucifer the worshiper.
Lucifer is the worshiper as theologians suggets becuase he had trumptets in his wings and he led a third of the angels in worship, this would explain why music is very influencial in a demonic way. The fact that God created music explains why music is powerful all together.
There is a qustion for evolutionist i've never heard asked. how does music come into play in that... a neanderthal fell over and busted his head on a rock and his followers liked the noise it made and started knocking each other over untill it made a rythm at this time they never heard rythm the were probably white......j/k....but anyway not to bring up old stuff.

The seven archangels are Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, Chamuel, Jophiel, and Zadkiel.
Though they vary in translations and traditions

I don't know the exact origin of music.... So I really don't understand how it relates to evolution? Simple melodies are pleasing to people and over time they become more complex to fit more sophisticated needs. I don't think that establishes whether it arised out of evolution or God exclusively.

I actually don't know much about them, I thought you would know more. I just recall Mike, Gabe, Ralph and Uriel and I had to look the others up online I was hoping to stump you with some usless church trivia or something. But I guess we're both confused on this.

I am very impressed Ryan, I never brought up the pagan rituals and dates because I thought it would be outside the envelope of what you could handle . I guess I was wrong and you learn something new everyday. There is a term for it when conquering religions took over new territories they ofcourse implemented immediate beleif in only their God but they left a lot of local symbols and dates of celebration because it made assimilation easier and met with less resistance from the new culture's people. The mixing of people, cultures and religions is a big part of what makes history so interesting for me. History can be a usable piece of knowledge that is applicable to establishing identity and understanding our origins. This is why I like it.
