To be clear Christianity does does not accept the worship of the tree nor does it accept worship of greek Gods, and it still opposes us to take part in heathen ritual in the case stated in Jeremiah the cuting down the tree (The "act" or "works" of this) is not in and of itself the sin, but the hearts content and the why we do this is or isnt the sin. Christians do this in the name of the celebration of Christ, even though the tree nor the date is relevant to the birth of Christ. Personally i dont care for the whole Christmas tree and all that stuff, I dont condemn anyone who practices this, we will probably have a tree in our house, due to alot of things going on right now with my sisters death and the care of her children we probably wont have any time to worry about all that anyway.
Thank you Chris, Again hopefuly one day you will see even when i get in arguments that i am not rejecting any man nor do i ever mean to be disrespectful. Christianity does not mix with any other religoin. Historically it does have ties with Judaism, this is the origin of the Christian Faith. The bible says that only one who accepts the sacrifice of Christ and or the circumsision of the heart is a true Jew, and that through the blood of Christ we are Grafted into the tree of the Jewish People. Ultimatly This was the begining of the Christian Faith. I want people to understand that Christianity, true Christianity is not even a religoin.
The word "Christian" is a mockery of the Followers of Christ, In the city of Antioch the Romans mocked the followers of Christ by Calling them Christians which means either "little christ" or "Christ Like". Mocking them they called them Little Christ , or Christ Like. Either way Im not a little Christ and i am not Christ like. I will never be a little Christ and i will only be Christ like when i die. I am a disciple of Christ and a Follower of him. I , becuase i am human and i make mistakes as well as you do, am not worthy of the name of Christ. But through the blood of christ he has made me holy and righteous in the eyes of God, as he did Noah, he found Noah righteous becuase of his Faith and Trust in him and Who he was. I am not a disciple of any particular man or orginization though i have brothers and sisters in Christ and I have a Pastor and other Church leaders. Jesus Christ has guided me himself to the Father through his shed blood on the Cross.
This is Why Christianity should not be divided by different faiths, such as baptist, catholic, pentacostal...etc. and True Christianity isnt divided. If you cant see the true undivided Church of Christ it is becuase you dont know what to look at. This is the Kingdom of God, the bible says unless you are born again you cannot see the kingdom of God nor can you understand the things of God.
God Bless Ryan

According to the bible i am a preist ;D Through the blood I am a member of a Royal Priesthood
1Peter 2:1-9 1. Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, 2. As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: 3. If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. 4. To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, 5. Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 6. Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. 7. Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, 8. And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. 9. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;
And at the time no i am unemployed this is Louisiana. Im about to start bible college again, and i may get a job as a limo driver while im in school.

Hey...is this true? Forgive me if I hack this interpretation but according to "The Da Vinci Code"...
Long...Long...ago...rome used to be divided into two religions...the Pope then was trying to convert the other religion to Christianity and to do so he adopted one of their religious practices which was praying on Sunday to their God...(might have even been Sun God...don't remember) so the Pope at that time declared only one religion in Rome and that it would be Christianity and Sunday was the day everyone would go to church....AND THAT ACCORDING TO THE BOOK IS WHY WE GO TO CHURCH ON SUNDAY.
Is this true?

Im not too sure, I know that the Jewish Sabbath was saturday. I know that we celebrate Jesus Resurrection on Sunday and that is why we go to church on Sunday. The actually begining and orgin of this im not sure i can look it up. In Christianity Jesus IS the Sabbath and his presence and his rest is to be celebrated daily. Whatever day we go to church for worship is irrelevant.
Here are a few things to think about.
The Sabbath was created for man to rest after 6 days of work. Through the entire history the Jewish people gave up animal sacrifice to God for Worship, Repentance, Peace and other things. This was the only way you could reach God or have any kind of relationship with God was through the blood sacrifice. These are works they had to be done but they were only to be the manifestation of the heart. God desires obedience over sacrifice. But when Jesus came and died on the cross it is Him who is the Sabbath and he is our rest. Jesus said "my burden is easy and and my yoke is light." We dont have to "work" or give animal sacrifice becuase we are in his rest, He provided the sacrifice.
Here is one more. God Created the earth in 6 days and rested on the 7th day. It has been 6 thousand years since the creation. it was 4 thousand years later that Jesus came and has been 2 thousand years since he came. that is 6 thousands years of Earth and all that is in it. What is going to happen in the next 1000 years? the 7 thousandth years. If this theory is correct this day our thound years is pretty well near over. (when the Calender of years we go, BC, AD...etc. by was created or designed they say they were off a couple years more or less of the birth of Christ) And biblical prophecy confirms that this 7 thousanth year is about to begin. As i wrote in my post the prophecy of daniel. The last global empire is in the process of being formed as we speak. And Jesus Christ himself is going to come down and make war on this empire. He will set up his kingdom in Jerusalem and rule for 1000 thousand years (after this i dont know dont ask) This si called the 1000 year millenial reign. A 1000 years of rest. The 7th day. The Sabbath.
Intresting aint it.
almost scary..........

Gary, You have got to read his new book, Angels and Demons. WOW! awesome. I am going to read Da Vinci Code next. Ryan, I think I had learned Jesus was really born in March, not Sept. I may be wrong. Also Chris was right on, they assimilated different religions into it, Christmas is really a Sun worshipers day, as well as the whole halo thing, from the Sun worshipers. It made it easier to convert them to have them practice worshiping our god on the days they used to worship theirs. Speaking of that, off to church I go. peace

Personally i dont think its right. To have anything to do with merging religions. But the great part about christianity is that we can decorate a tree, but if we do it in the name of another god or not in the name of Christ then we are in idol worship and/or we are wasting our time.
Cal me scrooge Bahhumbug
I think Christmas is a great way to celebrate the birth of christ regardless when he was actually born.the actully pagan part of this practice is obsolete becuase we do it in the name of christ.
Its kinda like prayer (i dare to compare) but other religoins pray that doesnt mean we have to stop praying.
Does this make sense i think i just started rambling a while back and couldnt stop typing because i am bored out of my mind.
