If anyone is considering to help in the relief efforts and don't already have an organization to donate to, here is what you can do. Make your checks out to the Salvation Army and on the memo line write "Tsunami Relief." This way your donation will go directly to the relief effort and no where else. I talked with my pastor and he ensured me that 100% of any donation will go directly for the effort. The Salvation Army already has 1,200 missionaries in the area to assist, and more are going daily. Just wanted to share. Thank you.

I think the Unity of nations is a very powerful thing. Whether it be for the sake of Love, compassion, politics or religion. We all need each other in this life. I have a friend leading a missions trip to Thailand this summer I kinda have family over there. I imagine that would be and interesting journey. I'm kinda contemplating going with him. I'm really scared to fly tho never been in a plane before.

I praise God for the salvation army. They are a strong force and very needed. They also helped my cousin find a place to stay I pray that they planted a seed in his heart to live a better life than what he was living. Thank you Andy, The Salvation Army is greatly apreciated in my heart.

Thank you all for the kind words. The Salvation Army does so many wonderful things for "all" people in need. I kind of married into the Salvation Army. My wife's parents are both officers in the Salvation Army, and she has a total of 28 uncles, aunts, and cousins who are also officers. They are all ordained ministers, and all truly love the lord. I tell you, I have a very quick sense of humor, sometimes off center, so I have learned to think before I make a comment that I think is funny. They are great though. Ryan, I hope that you get on that plane and get to go to Asia and assist your cousin. I want to wish all a very happy and safe new year.

It is a great thing what human nature instinctively acts upon. The Salvation Army, and other charities, show what people are made of: pure compassion and love.
Thanks, Andy

At a time like this those countries need us. We go home every day to a nice warm home where our family awaits us. Many of these people lost their entire family and home, and do not have ANYTHING to go to. It is extremely sad to see all of these people killed in the Tsunami. There are complete cities, and small populations of people completely vanished, and the numbers keep rising. They say that the worst is yet to come, because of the disease and infection that is set in from all of the dead bodies in the water. This is definatly a time to thank God for what you have, and be happy that you are not living in their shoes. Just think about it for one minute....................... It would be just as easy to have been born in a country like that, and be subjected to such dangerous extremes, instead we were not and have so much to thank God for.
Take care, Olin
