Nancy, Hack, Screw, Turnkey, are just a few OLD terms Convicts called us Correction Officers... Those were rather some nice terms, as I'm sure you know... I haven't seen John or heard from him since he went into rehab. He then escaped or took off with another guy, and went south...And the rest is history..I know Angola and most Prisons and Jails have multi buildings, but I was curious if you had heard of him..He apparently got VERY BIG in there. Sent pics to a buddy quite a few years ago with 22 inch arms. He was always big. In 8th grade he was 185 lbs and very muscular and STRONG for that age. His father owned a gym where we lived.

I, fortunately work in my County Jail ( Westchester ). A VERY rich County. What I like is when people think that my Jail was very easy, They don't realize that Upsate Convicts come from Jails.. When the Upstate Prisons( 88-90 ) were over crowded we had inmates living in the supply cells, dayrooms, classrooms, etc. Some on murder charges and that was in the Pen, which was minimun security. The Jail had blocks ( 30 convicts to a block ) with 25-lifers waiting to go upstate. So you think they gave a F##k about us? Its no Angola, but it had its problems! We held roughly 1,300 inmates in 4 buildings...REMEMBER it was a Jail not a Prison. We did have women work in the mens jail and men in the womens jail. That went through the courts while I worked there. NEVER believed that law should have gone through..To many problems on both sides...

I have to say I never did like Nancy working there, but I knew she was safer there than at our local florist. Like she said, her best friends were the inmates ( I wonder why? ). I am so glad she got out of that environment. Needless to say it was not doing our marriage any good. Can you imagine 5000 inmates craving your wife? (Hey, that is a compliment in 5000 ways, and it can be as many slaps in the face as well. ) I wonder if she gave any of them our phone number? The phone did seem to ring a lot. hmmmm

I used to hunt when I was kid, but I have not in decades, in Nevada there is always a season to kill something. Chris a bow and a bear? I think you may need a bit more than that, maybe add a Swiss army knife. Chris you and I have very similar taste in guns, I have a PA P12 45 and a P14 45 very nice guns. Both a Beretta and a Taurus 9, a Beretta 380, two Colt 45 autos, one full size and one officers carry, two Sigs, a 45 and a 9, a Titan FIE pilot carry 25, found that in a pawn shop, a SW sigma 9 the worst major name gun on the market and a Glock, the second place poorest gun on the market. I need a new shotgun, that Benelli 12 is very nice one of the best ever made. I only have a modified Mossberg 12. From the good old days I still have a 22 rifle with double 50 round banana clips, folding stock, laser sights, and a Hellfire trigger system, a ton of fun to shoot. I have not been out shooting in a long time, discharging a cap gun anywhere in California is a capital crime.

Nancy pistol or not you have to be pretty tough to be willing to walk that concrete, it is no easy task.
I would agree that women should not be in direct contact with inmates in male prisons, and I would say vice a versa, no males in women’s prisons. I think history has shown how volatile these situations can be.

I had a 38, 6 shot Smith and Weson. At the time we as Peace Officers in NYS were allowed to carry any firearm. BUT our S.O.Ps forbided it. Plus. We only used 38s on the job and thats what we qualified with every year. That was now changed. You can carry any pistol you want. I fired it at the range once when i first got it, and only carried it to Malls. Thats were I used to see ex-convicts all the time. I believe my gun was probably rusted shut...LOL... When I went out on disibility my Dept took it from me.

They are pretty weird about carry weapons, In Reno you could carry the standard Beretta 9 or the 38 as I recall but Washoe county could carry anything they wanted that got real interesting when the DE's and the big bore revolvers became popular.
One guy shot an armed perp during a B and E at an apartment, with his DE using +P loads, even hollow pointed at that range it passed right through the guy through two apartment walls and killed a neighbor.

Silly boy he should read "Marshalls" a little and realize +p loads are very ineffective against humans ( over penetrations and failure to mushroom completely )
I often wonder why the 9mm is so popular in Law enforcement when extensive studies show that a perp on average can continue to return fire to law enforcement when having been hit 3 times ?
average that a round of .45 acp required to put a perp down 1 !!!!!!

Nancy no disrespect intended to you Hack stood for horse's ass carrying Keys H A C K. I was in Federal prison with all the famous people ( HA HA ) Joe Klecko ( Famous Football player ), Jerry Mcain ( Mayor of Jersey city for 10 years ) even the guy the movie the French connection was made about. I was at Allenwood FPC it was the Place that G Gorden Liddy wrote the book " Club Fed " Time is always rough but it is easier there for sure. I would say that my week In Rikers was worse than my year in Allenwood.... no Joke there were a few female guards at Allenwood most were nice a few were not , that is life. None were ever given a hard time. Even in prison there still is etiquette and those who will enforce it to those who dont have it Christopher Myers

Before armwrestling, During bow season you would never see me! I love to hunt, always did. Trapping too. Since I moved to Florida from Michigan in 98' I could not really get into being a southern sportman. I love Venison, But I love to just be out there too! It was my therepy. I have a Brand new bow that I have about $1200 into it, so I plan on using it more next year! Great question! But I love guns too, nothing beats a Browning A-Bolt! I just miss those Yankee Dear! 200 lbs plus!
