What are some of the favorite disciplines out there? And how long have you studied (hours vs. years if possible).

the discipline I would like to study is Ninjitsu. Fat chance though. You have to be in the bloodlines to learn that one.

I studied alil bit of ninjitsu, Jeet-kune-do, Ishinryu, and Kung-fu. The only one I studied in an official setting was Ishynryu. But through out my teenage years I spent time studying a lil bit of each. Of all i prefer Jeet Kune Do. This is bruce lees fightng style. Not any form or particular structured way Just getting to the point. No dressing it up with pretty rituals. Bruce lee makes it clear that al the rituals are pretty and fancy but they dont get you anywhere. This is the only eastern philosophy i will look at and compare to christianity and armwrestling. That i will do carefully.

Bill, my kids and I study HanMuDo. If you are not familiar with it, it is a Korean style derived from Judo, Hapkido, TaeKwonDo, and Akido by Dr. He-Young Kimm. We have, like many styles, forms, weapons and techniques. Just today we had a training session for an upcoming tournament. With compiled techniques I have put together for the demo, it will, by far, win gold. If you go to: www.hanmudo.com you will see what I am speaking about with the tournament schedule. When I was younger I took Taekwondo and enjoyed the fundamentals of it, but this style is much more indepth. (Not to knock Taekwondo) I also studied Ninjitsu for 6 months (before we moved to another city) with weapons training. Talking about intense and intimidating! Ryan, my brother took Jeet Kune Do as well. He was amazingly gifted for it. Of course he got mixed up in a bad crowd and took a different course in life all together. Oh well... Steven, you have to be one of the craziest ones on this board!..."angry penguin style"... ;D
