Hey man, how 'bout this: my computer will not play cd games or any programs working off of a cd. It starts to auto read, then pops up a window (sometimes) like it wants to run, then is automatically goes down into the task bar at the bottom and will not play. This is not disk related, it is def. the computer because it happens constantly. Also, it may or may not be related, but I can't get video players or game windows to full screen. I hit full screen, it tries to expand, then goes right back to the original size. I am running on win xp home ed., 256 mbs ram, 1.6 gig pent. 4 by emachines. Thanks in advance, mike d.

I heard of people fixing those kinds of problems with the gently massage of a baseball bat upside the console.
Its not highly recommended if you want it run right but it relieves stress. ;D

You may want to try reinstalling your software.

I know you asked Tony directly, but you know we are inclined to give our two cents worth. ;D ;D ;D
I agree with Mike West, the problem could be in his suggestion and also play the same role in not having a compatible video card. It DOES matter how old the games and your computer are. Although your OS is up-to-date, it doesn't mean your hardware is.
Run a malware check on your OS, then check your auto run settings.
When all else fails...swear at it like Steve said. Too expensive to beat it up with a bat.

thanks all, i have considered many of those suggestions !! Yes Mike & Allen, the software is newer--even Win. XP compatabile brand new software will do this. I can play it on my kids many years old win. 98 machine with no RAM. Oh well, I guess I will just try the baseball bat download ;D

Sorry it's taken so long to reply, I've been on the road like non-stop and someone has been barrowing the power supply of my lap-top without my purmission.
to me it sounds like there might be a problem with the video driver (the program that runs the video). If you could message me the exact model of video card on you PC, I'll look for an available driver on the Net for you.
Now this is a PC, not a lap top, Right? Also, how old is this computer?

Another question, What model of E-machine is yours?
Granted I don't know all the details on your comp. because I can't directly look at it, but if it's not the video card there are few other things it could be. One is laser allignment, the other is cd drive deffection. Keep in mind though these are the only option I can derive at the moment with the current information.
But I would recommend before doing anything with your computer to try reinstalling all the initial software that the computer comes with. I don't know if this will work because your problem is CD related, and the program are on the CD that came with the computer. But try it.
