God (A 3 letter word that means everthing)
Does he exist? Yes.
Even though I teach in a PUBLIC school we say every A.M. "ONE NATION UNDER GOD."

yea its been discussed....i believe it is not the spirits of those stuck between worlds....i believe they are demonic spirits.
Necromancy is a satanic practice and an abomination to the lord.

Ryan , so you have never had something strange happen to you that you can't explain? Example: You are thinking about someone that has passed on and then you feel a cold breeze blow by and it seems someone/ a presence is with you at that moment?
By what you just said above: does that mean anyone who believes in the supernatural is leaning toward satanism?

Has anyone ever heard of James Van Praagh? He was the guy on the show I was watching. If he is indeed "satanic" and talking to only "demons". Does this mean that, assuming you believe him, the "beings" he is communicating with are "demons" portraying "loved ones"? Or are the "loved ones" in fact now "demons"? It sounds pretty believable. Is it "Satan" trying to confuse people, is he honestly trying to do a service by giving closure for people in grief, or is this just a bunch of Hollywood crap? Just curious what the people on this thread think.

There's no way he means that Justin. The prohibition in Leviticus regards summoning spirits of dead people to communicate with them. When you try to do that, you play with fire. You open up portals that demons can take advantage of. It is very dangerous. Also, as Ryan has stated, it is an abomination to our Lord. He wants us to trust in Him alone.
That's not to say that you did anything wrong when you had your experiences. Stuff like that happens more than people care to admit. The physical sciences cannot explain supernatural stuff. How about the thousands of well documented cases of people ravaged with malignant tumors throughout their bodies, given a week to live, a priest comes in to do the sacrament of the sick, next morning the doctor comes in and can't feel any tumors. He has the patient undergo the normal bunch of tests to find out the cancer is completely gone. The doctors all say the same thing: Science can't explain that. It's got to be some sort of miracle.

Just out of curiosity, what is your definition of a miracle? Does a miracle always have to be divine intervention by God? Can't it just be a miracle of the body?

Chris, it is very likely the guy you speak of is a Hollywood fraud. If someone is in fact talking back (and that would be like getting hit by lightning twice) it would in fact likely be a demon with ill intention. Satan is the father of all lies and his minions are full of hate and deceit like him. If the Hollywood man you are watching believes the "spirits" are helping him, it's because the demons fooled him. Over time, the demons will inflict a lot of damage in varying degrees...harassment(emotional and physical manifestations) all the way to full demonic possessions, which is extremely rare. But, it was very common before Jesus rose from the dead and won His victory over sin and death.
People in a state of grace don't have to worry about that stuff. People that hate intentionally, have a lot of earthly punishments first, then much more severe punishments after death.

Chris, a "miracle of the body" would be a physical science.

Where do "out of body experiences" fall?

Can it still be considered a physical science if science cannot explain it. Basically what I'm wondering is if it cannot be explained by Science, then is it automatically a "miracle of God". It seems kind of like the "Heads I win, Tails you lose" thing for Science. There are things in Science that cannot be explained, but just might be that we do not have the mental capacity or technology to explain them yet.

My definition of a miracle is something that cannot be explained in a known physical science. Where the miracle comes from is I think what you are wondering. Well, if it's a good miracle, I believe it's from God. If it's evil stuff, well I think you get the point.
And Chris, the healing miracles that I'm bringing to your attention all happened as a result of the sacrament. There are other healing type miracles that happen as a result of fervent prayer, or in rare cases people who are given the gift of healing(wasn't rare in biblical times) Saint Peter even brought people back from the dead!

And yes, I get your point. Physical science can't yet explain things that the scientists know are physical. They know that some day they will be able to explain it because it is physical in nature, or they won't be able to, because it isn't likely we could ever have the capacity to be able to do so. But, they also know the difference between NATURAL and SUPERNATURAL.
Physics teaches us certain things. When things happen that do not fit into what scientists can quantify, that would be supernatural. Those forces that cannot be quantified have to have a source. Watch the "Exorcism of Emily Rose," if you have the courage. The movie is almost perfect in it's theology. In contrast, the movie "The Exorcist" was a big pile of crap, theologically speaking.
Think it all out for yourself, Chris. You have to ask the questions you are asking. Over the course of your life your faith will be a REAL faith if you persistently want to get to the bottom of all the difficulties that you are having with this "God" thing. Hey Chris, you remind me of me, 25 years ago. I no longer have any doubts though.

I think alot of people are tricked into comiting the sin of witchcraft after seeing things and they try and find out what they have seen.Whosoever breaketh a hedge a serpent shall bite him.Me i would anoint the place in the name of the father the son and the holy spirit and comand all demons to flee in his name

Yeah I have seen ghost before an I have seen a demon to but the two seemed different one was a man just walking from the hallway to the kitchen around the corner an I seen him while i was listening to my headphones it seemed to be a guy from another time like maybe from the early 20's or 30's an then when I was little about 7 in this house we used to live in in Gastonia I always saw this shadow an my mom told me it was my imagination so i believed it an just kept telling myself that that is what it was an i was laying in my room one night an I remember this like it was yesterday an i seen a shadow on the wall an it had a hat on an I was like oh thats my imagination an I looked at the door an I was like thats whats making the shadow an I was like wait there isn't a hat on the door an looked back an the shadow was standing at the foot of my bed an then well lets just say I got really really scared an then it picked me up an threw me from my bed to my baby brothers bed an then back to my bed an i jumped in the floor an rolled under the bed an screamed for my mom. when she came in there nothing was in there but my dad seen the thing to an my brother did to but it never seemed to bother my mom but that thing felt like an evil presence an I would always have horrible nightmares I remember I had a dream one time there that I raped my own mother an i woke up crying cause can you imagine how sick of a thought that is? I believe in Demons 100% and they are terrible. I also believe in Angels an God an the Word Of God. Ghost I have seen that stuff an it didn't feel evil or good. It was just there. I wish something could enlighten me a little more on the subject cause I have exausted myself studying the stuff before I have read a lot of christian stuff on the subject. Nobody seems to have a good answer.
