What are your thoughts on the latest supermatch offers? I personally LOVE it, sportsmanship is great and being nice is fine -it just isn't nearly as entertaining as trash talk and watching the the best of the best call each other out. Bring it on!!!!!
Sad part is, usually someone has some excuse why they can't make it happen. We need a pot to contribute to for ARM TV that would be used for the sole purpose of bringing us the supermatches we want to see. ex: Rob V. vs. whoever he's ticked off at the moment. Keep it up Rob, I think you pull off the confident American role pretty well. Engin, everyone likes you and I like how you stick to your guns when you feel you are right. I love how confident Chris Chandler is as well. This could be the future of the sport?

Add Luke Kindt to that list as well.

i think calling someone out to prove something is what armwrestling is all about!
As long as its done with respect and good sportsmanship, which is what was done in the latest callout. Its much more exciting and bring an emotional element and background story to the match, which is what people want to see. Its so much more boring when you just see two guys have a match that someone else sets up that they just "agree" to being in.
Right now i would rather see the engin vs rob (@200) match up than the devon v john rematch. just because of the tension between the two at the moment. it would be very exciting to watch!!

You can call someone out, and be respectful while doing it. If you aren't, you're doing the sport, yourself and your intended opponent a disservice.

IMO It's hard to determine on a message board if someone's demeanor is respectful or disrespectful . I think if someone is going to call someone out, Do it on Arm TV!!!

I have rarely seen a respectful calling out on the board or video! I suppose with the TV generation of wrestling and MMA where the hype is more sellable it has morphed into Arm Wrestling. Not a big fan of it myself. Don't have a problem with discussion after matches announced. as long as its respectful. We should be above that IMO. I like Pete's way where matches are set up via phone and both parties can agree beforehand. Then let the knuckles fly. Too much gets lost on the board and things get taken out of context. Who am I to call out someone tried and proven. I may contact him and try to set something up. Maybe ask a promoter to do the same. If I am feeling like he won't give me the time of day, why would I want to pull him anyways?

I think its fine to say "I want to pull so-and-so, or I want a rematch with......." That is a reasonable way to set up matches.
The smack talking that you see is probably a good selling point for matches, and I guess its ok for trying to hype something up. However, it usually comes across as an immature cock measuring contest.
Having a promoter set things up is a great way to go. Then the competitors can sit back and watch others argue over who will win.
I'm not a fan of smack talking, and I'm definitely not a fan of unsportsmanlike bickering. I guess maybe I'm a little old school, when competitors respected their competition, at least in public........

Yeah but this is the new age your just getting old shawn. JK bro haha. I think the hype up usually makes the matches more interesting. Like when Travis pulls it's very very exciting I mean I like when they respect each other too. Personally I guess I would have to say I like the way Devon an John do the most maybe Devon a little more cause he will talk a little smack but not too much an not in a bad way. He just tries to get people motivated to pull him I guess.
