Not sure if I should be even posting this but It's really bothering me. Ive know about a lawsuit for quite some time now. 2 of my close friends put on an arm wrestling tournament every year at a local fair. They don't make a penny. They do it mainly for kids and curious farm boys and adults that want to show off their strength. I usually will take my kids and help out in whatever way I can. Well this past year there was no tournament. Why? Someone claimed to have gotten injured. Wait it gets better. I don't know all the details but its extremely fishy. Ive just been served papers that I need to attend for questioning and who knows what else. WTF take time off from work for some looser thats sue happy. Wait it gets better! By the sounds of it, the injury happened back in 2006. He didn't file until April 2008. Wait it gets better! I got the losers name and I was curious about who he was and where he was from. Turns out he is a Pro arm wrestler that competed in many Nationals and World events in the 198's and 220's. Placed top 3 in most of them in the early 2000's. What is the first thing you learn as an arm wrestler?? Safety! I don't understand how people think these days. Get a job and earn money the right way. Goes to show you you can't trust anyone. Everyone is sue happy

Did he sign legal documents before the tournament? Stating that if he gets hurt it's not the show promoters fault ..etc?

Now a days it doesn't matter. But to answer your question, I don't know. I had nothing to do with that.
Thats not my point .
Hes is a person with many, many years of experence at a local fair with newcommers. And hes suing. He couldn't of been very good at the fair because either he wasn't really there or he really sucked

I don't really see him winning the case. Seems like a big waste of time IMO. F*ck that dude lol.

My wife deals with personal injury attorneys daily. Make it clear that there's no money to be had and the lawyers will likely drop the case.
This is why everyone needs to sign a waver. They can still sue you, because you can sue a ham sandwich. But at least the waiver shows the person knowingly made the decision to enter a dangerous sport.
I still say the lawyers will drop the suit. With a bar a lawyer smells money. Who do you sue at a fair?
What is sad is this dumbass will lose this lawsuit and then next week he'll find a wet floor to slip on at McDonald's or he'll slam on his breaks in traffic to get rear ended.

The judge will throw this one out due to him constantly putting himself at risk in multiple tournaments.
The bad part is the innocent people being dragged to court for a BS trial.
I say post his name so we all know who he is.
Has he competed since?

This person actually used to train with me in my home around 2003-04. I have known him prior to having him come over as he used to train with a Bristol Native & another Well Known Armwrestler, back in the late 80's... I refuse to say his name until the case is over, & I truly feel bad for those that promoted the tournament & for those that spared their own "free" time to help out & ref & stuff!! It's people like that who make our sport less popular!! It's unfortunate that those involved are being "punished" so to speak because that have never asked for anything, & will do anything involving Armwrestling!!! Very sad & very selfish

I also heard maybe the ref. Your right john trial will be in the winter months so he hopefully will get nothing and he will slip on the court steps and sue again.

I know who he is and I know his name. LOL
the guy is a loser who was kinda ok at armwrestling. I've trained with him and I have video of him competing at a sanctioned event. So if he says he didn't know what he was doing..... I have proof he is lying!!!!!
