Who did the guys of renown you mention, fight that was so great??? What made them so great??? They all fought bums...... None of them were undefeated except Rocky. They are considered great because of opinion. Not because it's a fact or anything. Tyson was an olympic champion also. Thats not just a bunch of bums he fought imo. None of them fought bums to be honest except maybe back in the day when training wasn't as good as it got in modern times. Ali got beat by the guy Mike Tyson knocked out.... remember you said no shoulda coulda woulda bs.................... Ali got beat by the guy tyson knocked out...... Douglas did beat him. That doesn't mean Douglas was a nobody. Means Douglas was a bad mfer. And I guess that guys opinion mattered more than Ali's own words though. Ali wasn't a dumb man, he wasn't gone in the head when he said it. He was up messing with Arsenio and them when they were all on the stage together. No I don't know everything about boxing just like I don't armwrestling. I do know when he lost the people that made him he sucked it up big time. Just watch some of his interviews about what was going through his head back then. It's def true when he said we couldn't last 5 mins in his world. He had a rough life growing up a very rough life. No excuse for some of the things he did..... but that does effect peoples outlook on life. He got to big wayyyy to fast. Didn't know how to handle it. Tyson peaked to soon. I had my dates mixed up on the prison sentence but Douglas still caught a Tyson that was the same guy as a 1,2,3etc..... years before. I mean what more did he have to achieve??? He won every title. It's Johnny not johnnie. gui. And for the record George Foreman is one of my favorite fighters. If he woulda been as fast as Tyson he would have knocked Ali out cold. Ali liked fighting going backwards. Tyson was a lunging fighter who liked chasing you. Styles make matches. Patton liked to toproll and was very good at it. Roman likes to hook. I think Patton would have def beat him with toproll, but idk he didn't get beat but once by Chad and Chad has his hand. I think a current Chad is stronger than a prime Patton. Ali got beat by the guy who tyson Knocked out ? Are you talking about Holmes . Ali made a final comeback attept and was in against a very good Holmes. When Holmes fought Tyson he too was very old and way out of prime Style make maches, But Tyson was ordinary after 4-5 rounds unlike Joe frazier who was great and could bring it the whole fight.. Yes all this is opinion. But the ages of the fighters tyson fought and the nobbodys is a fact I dont need to watch his interviews, He was what he was. Like everyone is you me everyone could have done different. Some people did it and wouldnt change a thing. It defines who you are and were.. IF ali didnt miss 3 years of his prime than what? cant go back and change that, But he did enough to define his palce near the top, as all experts of the sport state

Ok.....you guys are killing me. boxing....I thought this was an arm wrestling page? yes but why you say this now while it started by someothers already sometime ago? (Off topic) Would you put Muhammad Ali up against all the great heavyweights since him? Aside from prime Mike Tyson yes i think i would anyway. I think a young prime Tyson would have gone through him IMO I know where you're going I think. Even the great Ali would be too small today to dominate everyone. ok let me add some armwrestling.. Arsen was the strongest 165 ever ;D

John Wilson, Perfectly stated as usual.
Geez, enough of the boxing talk - move that part to Off topic. The analogy was explained by John and was not meant to start a debate about Tyson or Ali's place in history.

Yes all this is opinion. But the ages of the fighters tyson fought and the nobbodys is a fact yes but except the teenager fans of Tyson's time no real boxing authority would rank Tyson over Ali

Well Said Engin. I didnt read your very informative post until after My last two. It took me 2 seconds though to figure out it was Holmes. I didnt realize he was 39 , i was thinking 37. either way No heavyweight can make it back at these stages...

The analogy was explained by John and was not meant to start a debate about Tyson or Ali's place in history. look who is talking ;D Engin, Not sure what you mean... The point was to show that had Ali been boxing today, he still would have found a way to be the best. That was all. I thought John explained that clearly. This boxing talk had been discussed ad nauseam on the Off topic board. You should remember - most of your posts are the same! ;D

this is the talk show about Ali being modest to Tyson (Ali does not look small compared to Tyson ) anyone with average intelligence can understand what is serious and what is not here;

Engin, Not sure what you mean... The point was to show that had Ali been boxing today, he still would have found a way to be the best. That was all. you said off topic b meanin that it had nothig to do with this subject,honesty please I thought John explained that clearly. to me in today's rules Dave could not start (dont ask me what i mean) as he did in the past and this would be a negative thing about him pulling today. This boxing talk had been discussed ad nauseam on the Off topic board. You should remember - most of your posts are the same! ;D true,some gets quick some gets slow

That was all. you said off topic b meanin that it had nothig to do with this subject,honesty please Engin - I have been honest. Look up the word analogy and you will see why I used the example. If I could have used a better example I would have.
