Still disagree on that one. Your strap doesn't tighten well at all. It does "IF" it's put on correctly!! Not all referees have experienced a long strap before and had some trouble remembering that you wrap the opposite direction of whatever arm you're pulling, i.e. if you're pulling right hand, you wrap to the left first. Then, the strap tightens like it's supposed to. Karen is right. For awhile I experienced some loosening and wasn't quite sure why. The majority of the tournaments that I've reffed used AAA straps with the center ring. Once T. Bresnan showed me that there was a necessary direction to wrap them, then I didn't experience any more problems. I definitely like them better than the center ring straps and the width of them is definitely more friendly to the webbing and thumbs as James R. was saying. Also with the D buckles help you to tighten them better and you don't have to worry about velcro poping completely loose. Overall it seemed to be a very good strap.

I like the Buckle, but not across my index knuckle It gets tighter than the velcro ones. When the buckles are used I try to pick the side of the table where the buckle will be across my competitors knuckle ;D. Maybe its just me

AAA no longer uses the strap with the "O" ring in the middle. We had a new strap made, tried it out this weekend and it works GREAT! Still the "D" ring buckles but nothing else. I prefer the buckle but they have to be put on properly, glad that o-ring is gone though The velcro definitely doesnt stay together well, especially with experienced pullers who tend to move their hand around more and even open their fingers to full use the leverage the strap provides.

At Work I Identified two material I thought would be great for a strap....I the canadian Army has a buckel olive green a little thick not to much with a double sided bite so it can be tighten eaither left or right. the strap is static line from a parachute. I have had a material Tech to make a strap and our club loves it. I will bring it to the MGC so Scott Gary and John can film it and you guys can comment on it.
This buckel is tested in the artic where the the extrem temperature would snap most normal buckels.. But not this one!!

Andy that is the waf strap Rgr that, this is one that I made. They are pretty stiff and work awesome. I'm thinking for making a run of 10-20. And sell them a little over cost for time and effort. If yall want one, PM me with your quanity and color. Doing up some Black, Bright Orange and maybe some OD Green. Probably run about $10 each + shipping, does that sound fair?? Or maybe a fixed price to include standard shipping, give me an idea and I'll bust them out. AMiller

This is the buckle strap folks are referring to correct? The plastic buckle gives. Have used these at NAA events and have completely broken one and the plastic piece bent on another.

I have never heard of this problem, how many matches did they have at worlds that went to the strap? how many straps broke? Um David, you just did hear of this problem! As for how may matches at world went to straps, I don't know and don't care. As far as I'm concerned it's irrelevant. Same as using velcro and asking how many matches went to straps and how many times did the velcro break lose. Bottom line ------ it did! Along with I've used some other straps with the plastic and you can see where the plastic has been worn down due to use. I'll stick to metal buckles. Have tried the velcro and the plastic, along with all the others through the years and sooner or later they break.
