Great job TN! Would have had a clean sweep in the novice open right too if Kevin Allen pulled in the appropriate class. Also time for Daniel Mosier to step up in the opens destroying everyone right handed novice.

Blaine was on yesterday; he had good hand control. Jonathan "Big Quinn" felt strong. Doug Allen is always ready and strong; we seem to always pull each other first! Good job guys.

Blaine looked awesome! I wish i got to pull him. Jonathan feels stronger everytime i pull him. Harold...we always pull first! I know it might look like we hate each other but we are GREAT friends. He is just an ultimate competitor, and it is always so grueling and we take so much out of each other. We pull the best out of each other everytime we pull. we pulled 5 times yesterday lol. I HURT!! great job Harold you feel very strong. It was great seeing everybody. This tourney always brings some badasses out. and it always feels like getting together with family when i'm at this tourney.

Hard work pays off. Its an honor to pull with top competitors....Harold/Allen matches has become a traditional Midwest rivalry. Very entertaining.

Wow... Never realized Jeff Janes was so mad at me for pulling novice for ONE YEAR. I never touched a Armwrestling table until August of 2011 bro. And for your information, I won first place at Ohio State Championship that day, and the second time I won a tournament in novice was The Kentucky State Championship. That's TWO. And, I entered THREE classes at AAA Nationals, I placed top three in ALL of them. AND....I haven't pulled NOVICE one time since then so let's get your facts right before you start blasting me in public. By the way, I've encouraged you and never said a negative word about you so I'd appreciate the respect I deserve. Since I'm placing top three at almost every tournament I enter now.... AND IM PULLING IN THE OPEN CLASSES.

Ohhh and I failed to mention that my right arm was injured for over 7 months after The Ohio State Championship. So that's 7 months out of my Novice time also. I just love how everyone is so fast to jump on the new guy that's just learning... And just because I'm strong and able to smoke some guys in the novice class with pure strength DOES NOT mean that someone has technique to compete in the opens. Give a guy a chance to learn like he's doing for you man. I haven't even been concerned with how long you been pulling novice Jeff Janes, but I'd bet it's longer than I did if the truth were known.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but I have to side with Daniel on this, and here's why. David and Jeff are both huge proponents for Novice armwrestling and have put a ton of emphasis on growing Novice classes. I respect that. But how do you beat up on a guy who is supporting those classes and who is basically following the guidelines both of you guys have been pushing for? What, since a guy is too strong for most Novices he's not a Novice, or is it that he has good wins on people? Aren't you the guys who want to rank Novices? How do you rank somebody with no wins? I don't get it.
This whole flame war on two separate threads is EXACTLY WHY most of us older guys have been screaming from the rooftops that NOVICE is not where the focus of this sport should be. Is it good to promote Novice classes and grow the sport? Sure it is. But you guys are learning what we've been trying to tell you all along- You'll drive yourself crazy trying to manage Novices. A guy wins 3 classes or 5 classes or 10 classes... so what? You guys are the ones trying to incentivise the Novice class. Stop hyping Novice. Stop giving anyone incentive to be there. Novice is a training ground. It's a safe place to get your feet wet where you have a few seconds to try something without going two and out in the flash of an eye. It's the kiddie pool, and if you keep treating it like the JV Squad with real awards and prestige then people are going to hang out there until they can get that same notoriety in the OPEN class, which is completely and totally unrealistic.
Daniel, I'm not picking on you at all and I apologize if it sounds that way. By these guys' own rules you are doing nothing wrong. But from the perspective of veteran pullers you don't belong in the Novice class. You are competitive in the Opens. The Novice class has nothing to offer you anymore and you don't need it. Novice is the kiddie pool and it's time to move up. Yep... you're right. You will still get smoked from time to time. But collecting more Novice trophies isn't going to change that.

I 100% agree with you John Wilson. Novice is the learning ground. I pulled Novice for one year to learn technique, to go with my strength. I personally know guys that have pulled novice and open classes for many years and I don't agree with that either. But, I'm not in this sport to criticize anyone and I feel like I did the right thing by learning in novice first. Just because I was strong it didn't mean in any way that I knew what I was doing as far as technique... I'm in this sport to help others and get more people involved in Armwrestling. And by staying positive with my posts and training I believe I'm setting a good example for a lot of folks that didn't even know Armwrestling was a sport:) Thanks for your input John, very well said my friend.
