need any info from people in regards to countering the hook/drag move. Is it side pressure and back pressure combined that takes away the other guys ability to hook you? trying to soak as much info from the experienced guys as possible.

Back pressure, top roll. outside or inside TP depending on your area of strength. I wouldn't use side as you feed into the hook.

I'm not trying to be funny, but I would suggest getting strong in the hook. You can't toproll someone if they can smash you into a hook quickly. JMHO

I could be wrong, but I believe that genetics plays a roll here. Anthony, can you toproll John Vinicoor? Left handed yes, right handed, no?

there are many ways to counter a hook. look at how Roger beat Vazgen at the arnolds. knuckles down and a crap load of pressure against there fingers. No move will work on everybody though.

Jake thats exactly the same advise I got from Bob brown, just cant get use to the knuckles down thing and hitting against the wrist. seems like I would be going into the mouth of the beast that way!! I am actually working my hook extensively now with much bigger boys and its paying off. I think if I cant top roll em out then I better join em down in the middle right? Bob Paradis was right about getting better and not avoiding the move. thanks for all your insight fellas thats why I joined this site in the first place.
