This is favorite band As I lay Dying. They are known for playing some of the best metal in the world right now, and on top of that they are devoted christians. Each summer you can find them playing anything from small christian music fests to the giant Ozzfest. Check out the theme of the video and post what you thought about it. Dont forgett that this is being played every week on MTV 2 headbangers. Thats pretty amazing when you think about the other bands that are played on that station. So far there has been alot of good feedback from the video, but also alot of bad, due to the biblical theme of the video. If you like the song or know someone who would let them know that As I Lay Dying is headlining the Taste of Chaos tour as we speak.

it isnt letting me see the video i hear music tho. To be honest Its a lil more scary than it is pleasing to my spirit.
Id like to see the video tho. My beliefs about music iss that the lyrics must clearly present the gospel. and not have any affiliation with ungodly people or orgs like the ozzfest.
Im really curious to know where the music is coming from i clicked the link and nothing happened. no extraa window or anything it just started playing. sounds of someone vomitting on the mic

Ryan these are the lyrics. Its not your type of music, but this is what I am into now. For years I listened to deathmetal and then I found an alternative in christian metalcore. If you ever get a chance check out the lyrics for the rest of thier albums. Thier albums are poetry about being saved and thier relationship with the lord. PM brother because I would like to send you some stuff on christian music scene that is in national publications.
For so long I have felt alone. Content to live with unrest. Longing to fade into countless nights That buried my weary heart. But You brought an end to this dead hour And meaning to this calloused life. Held in Your arms but too far from my heart. These thoughts will carry me through the darkest nights, While your eyes rest in mine. I remember the way You loked at me And the way You drew me close with one deep sigh. Scattering pieces of my restless mind Forgetting all that we have left behind.

I'm not a christian... by any means..
but I do appreciate good metal.
I've heard them before... and they're pretty good.
why would you say "not have any affiliation with ungodly people or orgs like the ozzfest" ??
thats pretty counterproductive, the fact that they're there representing that belief in the first place should be reason enough to be there. Why limit your horizons? Format should be the least of your worries.

No offense but because you are not a christian you will not understand that properly.
The bible says to avoid the very appearance of evil.
1 thess 5: 22. Abstain from all appearance of evil.
so.. thats why i said that
Now im not going to say that this band is wrong or not for doing what they are doing , but to be apart of that they had better heard from God or they are putting themselves in a bad situation.

I like music like the guggling voice. I like all types of music. I like about anything in Ozzfest, and always wonder why all the devil stuff. Instrimental music without lyrics is fine with me, but if it has them i love the gurggling voices. I use to listen to alot of Christian metal also but this was different, I didn't get the message but that's really not what I'm after in music.
I have been playing with the movie maker on my computer. I did a bending video with the music of Canibal Corpse's Bent backwards and broken. They are talking about destroying bodies but to me it meant destroying steel.

I liked it for that type of music. I think we need christian bands to cover all kind of music to reach all and no offense Ryan, but I think it is very important that we go into these places such as Ozzfest to reach the lost. The lost are not gonna go see a christian band, so lets take it to them just as Christ did...after all... its not the healthy who need a doctor.

Now see everyone can get along!!!!! I love it. As far as Cannibal Corpse goes, my brother is playing with the former lead singer of that band on tour right now. The band is Six feet Under!!!!!!! Im sure many of you have heard of them. I just love metal and try and listen with a open mind with all of it. I have like 2000 albums and yet I never put one before the other regardless of faith. I can close my mind and just head bang. My being a dumb ass is a direct result of all that head banging. Also all the product that I put in my hair each day to keep my mohawk up

I can agree with that Harold. To a degree. I believe we must go into those kinds of places, but if they are associating themselves with certain people i feel we have a responsibility to make it known that there is a difference. I believe the difference between this band and another should be evident. If you cant understand the lyrics, this makes it difficult. If there is no difference in the act or the music or the sound or the company then whats the difference? and how is it going to make a difference in the lives of unbelievers? Im not saying right or wrong here. It is not my place to judge the heart of these people. But i do have my opinoins and beliefs on that. No offense taken

I do agree with you as well Ryan. I think when a christian goes into these places needs to be aware of the circumstances and be on gaurd. When you feel yourself falling into the pressure and acting as they would act, pack up and get out.
As for not understanding the lyrics....trust me........the people that trully like that kind of music understand the lyrics. They know what their saying and what point they are trying to make. Now run out, buy the CD and support these people would you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D

Good points all around. If someone doesnt care to buy the album, but would like a taste I can burn a sampler cd with a few songs from thier 3 albums. Also if anyone is interested in other christian metal bands, but really dont know whats out there, feel free to contact me and I will give you a list of great bands. Off the top of my head the top christian bands are Zao(god in japanese), Into Eternity, SoulFly, and Norma Jean. Cool thanks guys!!!!!!
Brian Chris Barnes will never die and will be putting out metal till the day he does die. I grew up with both CC and SFU. Good guys for sure and dont look or act like you would think they would. Its all about metal and hockey with those guys. Tampa Bay Lightning until they puke! HAHA
