The new superman seems to be a bit girly compared to christopher reeve....however he plays the part well and resembles reeve greatly.
the movie was pretty good over all. kevin spacey did an excellent job.
The one complaint i do have and to me its a big stinkin deal.
Superman was created and boldly declared that he stood "truth, justice, and the american way"
I am a proud american and i will not hide that or choose different words to describe it for the sake of offending anyone.
So my complaint was Perry White asked..."Supermans back? Does he still stand for truth justice....and all that stuff?"
You guys might not think much of that......but to me it seemed as if there were censoring the "american way" as if it were a vulgar statment.
If anyone has a problem with the american way that my father faught for and many many men and women died protecting....they can kiss my eberlubin rear end!!!
YOU GUYS HAVE A GREAT INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!

Not to get to crazy here but Perry is kinda a cold charactor that drives (he's the boss) the other charactors to do their jobs. He's not PC and just wants the headline. The line just show's his "boss like qualities" not a view of the movies directors thoughts.

...they can kiss my eberlubin rear end!!! Don't you mean Ompah-Lompah rear end? On the other hand, Scott, I can understand Ryan's point because nowadays movies are geared to appeal to a larger demographic and to not offend them. The sooner we get on with not having to worry about offending someone who could care less whether they offend, or not, the sooner we can hold our heads up as high. Have a great 4th of July everyone! Scott, are you coming to Unifieds? I want to settle up on our drink! We can even pull a couple of matches as well. ;D

No I'm not going to nationals. When we pull you can't hit . I can't handle your side pressure. Yes I do understand Ryan's thoughts, I wasn't sure if he (being younger) knew the background of all the characters. Superman himself is not the perfect model either. A flawed hero if you will.

It is all about the duckets. Superman returns is being marketed internationally.
back in the old days studios thought americans were the only ones who had any...(duckets...that is) now adays movies gross more overseas than domestic...hence the watering down of..."american way".
