They do cool acrobatics. They kill small animals efficiently, and then clean up by eating the carcass. Bob, please come over to my place and train my cats to do acrobatics. That would be fun to watch. Also maybe you can teach them to stay in our barn and pasture, that would sure help them from becoming road kill. And I think they missed the class on eating the carcass as I have to avoid dead mice that they leave in the barn for me to pick up. I just figured they do that so I know that they are doing their jobs. When you have the time to stop by do your self a favor and call me or when you open the gate my Saint Bernard will be barking real loud while my chow is chewing on one or more of your body parts. JD, you are right, it is irresponsible pet owners that are the main cause of why some breeds of dogs getting a bad rap. Bottom line is your neighbors cat shouldn't have been in your yard for your dog to do what comes natural.

DOGS all the way. A Dog knows you are his owner, and he's in his house. You yell to your dog, and he looks sad, lowers his head and walks away, he knows you're upset. Dogs show more emotions than cats, WAY more. Cats think THEY own the house, and they own you. The only thing I like about them, is the fact that you don't have to bathe them, yeah... but it can't all be that good, if dog bathed themselves, who on earth would own cats? BTW, mine's a german shepard.

Some dogs are really cool. But for me, they're akin to "nice place to visit, but..." Go Vikings!... Ooops.... too early for that one, huh Mark!

1. No, Not even close.
2. Dogs for sure. Second favorite pet would have to be Ferrets. They are a fun little animal to have around as long as you take the time to train them (like most pets)

I like dogs but I like cats too. Cats seem to like me more than I like them though, not sure what that's all about! Mark, I am watching a documentary about pits, I'll let you guys know if it's worth watching or not. The title is "Bloodline", basically trying to decide if they are a bad breed or have they gotten a bad wrap. Stay tuned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They say the same thing about labs, supposedly that's because there are more people who own labs and collies.

So that doc., basically from what I took away from it is that if you exploit a pit for what it is bred for, you get what you get (a feirce killer). For the most part, pits are no more harmful than any other breed (so these folks say).
I will still play it safe and refrain from the breeds that I deem harmful, i.e. .. Rotts, Chows, German shepards, and Pits. Call it what you will but I have had bad experiences with these breeds and I will steer clear, that's my opinion!!!
PS. these dogs were bred for fighting and that is a fact, whether it is instilled in their DNA, I don't know but I will not own one regardless!!!

IMO cats will always be the "safe bet". How may times have you heard of a cat wiggin' out and severly hurting someone? or killing a young child?

What about cats sitting on your chest and sucking the life/air out of you?

LOL, Don't know how true that one is, my cats usually compete for their spots on me at night, and I'm still here. Maybe we'll have to get ahold of Mythbusters.

Justin might have meant infants. If you have infants in a crib, you must keep the cats away for that reason. The cat could roll up on the sleeping baby and suffocate him or her.
