no problem chris..... remember what a cool guy I am....next time I have a nice kink in my wrist before the ready go....... If I were a ref I would set up a tip jar right next to the table I was working..... I'd be for sale... Tony Carpenter could be winning the overall if the price was right...... 5 of us would grab Eric Geuvin, take him to the backroom, and use the hammer like they did in the movie Casino..... I'd run the whole operation like a shady dog track.... so lets be grateful for the refs we have ;D

Hey Joe, you might need to set up a session with Ron Klemba. With thoughts like that, I would be worried for your friends and family.

YES, good one Duke! Jim Bryan: Did any of your matches go in the straps last year at the Unifieds? Mine did and I was made to put my elbow at the back of the pad by the refs AND TRAVIS, YES TRAVIS ( BTW, he kept his at the back of the pad also until AFTER the straps were applied )! And we all know how GREAT he is in the straps. He doesn't seem like a hooker IN the straps to me.....

Christian and Duke There is a distinct advantage in the elbow position during the setup. The aggravating factor is the referee controlling the elbow positions prior to a "Referee Grip" At that point, the referee is in control period. Up to that point, the competitor should be able to decide where he wants to set up on the elbow pad. Yes Christian, I did go to the straps at Unified Nationals last year. That was the first time I recognized they were putting me at the back of the pad to set up the strap. I didn't see any difference at that time. In March I was refereeing with Bill Cox and noticed a distinct difference in the position of the strap. I tested the strap both ways and did see a difference in power and control. This made me question the referee's control over elbow position prior to a "Referee Grip" being called. If two pullers are equally talented and matched in strength, this set up could definately favor one over the other. Obviously not the case with you and Travis ;D ;D
Keep in mind this strap set up is for Unified Nationals and World Armwrestling Federation competition only. AAA or World Armsport Federation competitions do not control the position of elbow placement while administering the strap. That is left to the competitors.
Keep training and God Bless Jim
