John Brzenk has the greatest hook ever. Denis Cyplenkov's left hand and Richard Lupkes have great hooks. Also, according to Engin, Hadzimurat Zoloev has the best hook in the world right now, pound for pound.

RUSTAM BABYEVGENNEDY FADZINOV was very rarely beaten in a hook. TCHAKILOV in his prime was also TWISTED strong inside. JAN GERMANUS at his best was fair to freakish inside !!! CVETAN GASHEVKI in his prime also had an exceptional hook. ASLAN HUGAYEV at his best ;D  ;D ANDRE KRUGLOV consistently formiddable  EDMIR FRROKU is currently no joke DEEEEP INSIDE ;D ;D ;D I also think that these lads at their respective bests DAVE PATTON

It is funny as I read all of the names how much their hooks vary in style and approach. God I love hooking.
John simply has a knack for finding "the" approach to beating you with some variation of his hook from anywhere on the table, and when he moves with it, it feels like a piece of equipment is pulling you along.
