What's the lowest weight class you've competed in and the highest weight class you've competed in (even if you were wrestling up a class for fun)....and did you find that moving up or down in weight class really had any effect on your ability to win/perform well. Just curious, I am tired of sticking around light weight classes. I was 133.8 at Unifieds when I weighed in and am already up to 160 now, feeling stronger than ever since I've been in the gym the past 13 days straight on my new program, which involves eating everything in sight and working out every day of the week with weights&cardio. 8% bodyfat when calibered yesterday... Im gonna do bodybuilding and armwrestling now, so that's why I was curious...since my legs are gonna weigh a lot more too since im going heavy on every muscle group..... My genetics seem more geared toward bodybuilding than armwrestling anyways, but I will not abandon this sport, as I still thoroughly enjoy it, and feel that moving up in weight might actually improve my performance. Thanks for any input. peace

Andrew, I have primarily pulled 198 and 220 since started my natural weight is 205 so I either Diet 7 to make 198 or I give up 15 lbs to the competition. I did pull one event when I was Clueless about armwrestling when I met my good freind Jason Vale where I pulled 175 lbs it was forever ago and I still think the scale was suspect it was my first Event. Jason ran it at a street fair for charity and it was supposed to be for amatuers but like typical Jason He allowed everybody in it ( Even Leslie Whims ) I wound up with third which was good for someone who had no Idea how to armwresltle against Non Amat. That is when Jason pulled me to the side and invited me to his Practices that he used to have at his house ( I miss those ) that is where I met Mike Selearis I think he was 17 then also Later on Christian Binnie and many others anyway that was a tangent
the lowest I ever pulled was 180 I have since pulled 198 220 242 243+ I have won at least one event at every weight ( maybe local or state champs ) Christopher Myers

The lowest weight I've pulled and placed in was 143 and the highest was the supers. Not that my weight fluctuates or anything

Andrew do you mean any level?
I pulled 154 open, 165 Open and 220 novice. Surprisingly, i hope i get this straight, I took third in the 143, Second 165, and Fourth 220. These numbers are all mixed up so its hard to tell if heavier is better but the style of pulling is much different. I felt that the heavier weight classes tended to hook just a bit more while the lighter weight classes tended to toproll, well atleast at this tourney. But this was a great CT tournament. Steve Lareau can attest to that becase i beat him in the 165 and he beat me in the 220. We were both weighing in at 154.
Hey Steve, seems like ages of ago, but atleast I made a good friend.

I pulled 125 at Nat's and 209's at Tn States. I finished 3rd 125's and 2nd 209's. Of course the number of entries and talent pool needs to be measured also. My problem with heavier weight is not the power but the size of the hand.

Lowest is 143..Nitro told me how lucky I was not to be in his class so I ran, starved, and chanted his name for 4 months and lost 33 lbs, but won 1st place.. I love the chase ;D.. Took 2nd in Supers at a fair tour, that was fun..

I pulled the 121's in 1975!!! Tho I was only 1 years old, I took Third in a class of two competitors. It was a tough day for me, but I learned that you have to be in it to win it!!!!

I'm surprised Engin hasn't weighed in yet. I remember seeing results of a tournament in (kansas or something) where he pulled and won every weight class.

When I pull at smaller local tourneys, I always enter multiple classes. Usually at local tourneys, there are only a few real good pullers per class, so it is nice for someone my size to pull in the bigger classes and get practice with bigger hands. I pulled a tourney two weeks ago in Pa. and I won the 165 right and left, and placed 2nd in the Super left. 2nd in the overall left and right. There were some big guys in the Supers, but for the most part, they were very inexperienced, and they just gave me their hand!! It was a good time. Before Mike Ohara got injured, we would pull alot of tourneys and do every class that we could make weight for. There were several times that we would go 1st and 2nd in the big classes.

UM, I keep thinking of pulling 242s. Promised myself 4 years ago that when I turned 40 I would lose weight, its much healthier. BUT just can't seem to get under 290. I have pulled at 270 to 305. Oh wait, thats still Supers. Chris Myers, Jasons house on Thursday evenings at 8p.m. were DEFINITELY fun times.

The lowest weight I armwrestled was 144lbs, the highest supers. I'm now around 270 and have been as heavy as 290. But, the 144lbs was in the 8th grade ;D. As an adult the lowest was 195. I've been gaining weight every year since getting married! The good cooking is hard to pass up! I'd like to think it's all the weight lifting that has made me heavier, but one look in the mirror and I know that's not so! Christian will never see 242 as he just got married! ;D I think he's on his way to 350!

Well I have said before, that a 265 class would be a good class. There aren't enough 242 pullers. If the class was extended a little higher, a lot of guys in very good shape could make the lower class. Christian, I think you have too much muscle to get down to 242 and maintain it.
