I just want to dedicate a thread to a great tool, hobby, defense aid, and freedom insurance. It makes me so frustrated when people want to penalize the majority for their own insecurities, misunderstanding, prejudice, fear, or so on. The irony is one can say what they please about guns because THEIR very freedom was forged with firearms. Guns need to be treated with absolute respect NOT fear. I pray for people who resent guns. They are a great tool to have in your arsenal.

-- George Washington
"The best we can hope for concerning the people at large is that they be properly armed."
-- Abraham Lincoln,4 April 1861
"One of the ordinary modes,by which tyrants accomplish their purposes without resistance,is,by disarming the people, and making it an offense to keep arms."
-- David Mohler,1989,on being denied a carry permit in NYC
Americans have the will to resist because you have weapons. If you don't have a gun, freedom of speech has no power.
-- Majority Supreme Court opinion in "U.S. vs. Miller" (1939)
An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life.
-- Patrick Henry,speech of June 9 1788
"To disarm the people... was the best and most effectual way to enslave them."
"The world is filled with violence. Because criminals carry guns, we decent law-abiding citizens should also have guns. Otherwise they will win and the decent people will lose." — James Earl Jones
"When firearms go, all goes – we need them every hour." — George Washington.
"A woman who demands further gun control legislation is like a chicken who roots for Colonel Sanders." — Larry Elder
If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of a constitutional privilege. — Wilson v. State, 33 Ark. 557, 34 Am. Rep. 52 (1878).

Nice post Kyle... bravo sIr!! Guns are to be treated with the utmost respect... and safety! My late father was a gun dealer with a federal fire arms license & taught me at a very young age the importance of gun safety & ownership.

Look around at the evil deeds being orchestrated around us on a regular basis. Pretty soon we will be decentitized by violence as it grows more routine. I cannot begin to fathom how ridding law abiding citizens of their constitutional rights will deter violence. You can't rationalize evil because it exists independent of weapons. Don't rid the world of guns rid it of perverted minds. The acts are conceived in the mind and will be commited by any means necessary. We have a God given right to be safe.

Blaming guns for killing is as absurd as faulting dairy cows for lactose intolerance.

Can anyone opposed to guns articulate with facts evidence that proves the ban of guns can curb violence? I would love for someone to legitimately explain what many have attempted but none have achieved. This is your chance to solve a world problem. Keep it fact based not assumptions. Ready go............... crickets!

Hey Kyle. Great posts.
I think the reason you haven't gotten a ton of responses to your thread is because you're kind of preaching to the choir here. Probably won't find too many anti-gun Liberals on the Armwrestling site. Folks here are rugged by nature. This website ain't exactly HuffPo or Politico.
Half the people here are probably veterans. The other half are just tough by nature. I'm sure there are some folks in our community who aren't thrilled with guns, etc. but in all my years of armwrestling I've never met anyone at a tournament that was the hippie granola crunching Jane Fonda type.

Exactly why I like 99% of the people I have met in this sport and can count the ones I don't on one hand.

In fact, I've always thought it would be great to have an ANNUAL ARMWRESTLERS PICNIC where we don't waste a whole Saturday with a tournament. We just all meet up, barbeque, shoot guns, ride ATVs, go mudding, party all night and generally have a good time.
Don't get me wrong, we'd have tables all over the place. But no tournament. And one table has to be in a swimming pool. That has to be a rule.
