Great to know someone thought the same thing Charlie! Christian Binnie you made some great points! The only thing is that i've heard performance enhancing drugs are very common in eastern block countries. Engin. Thanks for the wise words! Those are very incredible improvements. Good to know there are some tell tail signs of steroid use. I saw Maxim Maximov at the Europeans in 1999 when he won the 65kgs and he is now the best in 85kgs! Thanks guys!

I understand what Christian is saying but I have to agree with my eyes instincts and what Engin is saying.
To add to this these guys could still be the best or darn close without drugs. The drugs cant make a weak armwrestler great, but can make a great armwrestler off the charts.
Also Victor Conti on 20/20 Friday night said these athletes can beat the test so easy it's like taking candy from a bay. Marion Jones tested 87 times and didnt fail yet she is always on. Human growth hormone, the Cream, the Clear and something else Conti gave his athletes cant be detected.

That's very interesting Guy. I guess if illegal drugs can be undetectable then drug use will never be quashed in our sport.

First let me say that I do THINK these guys are " on ". But I won't accuse until I see a positive test. Engin, Your first paragraph says it all. if they are admitting it fine, if you ask, and they don't answer, well you have a right to assume. I thought Leonard said Voevoda was tested? My mistake. I agree with all these Eastern Bloc Pullers moving up in weight so fast can look like they are on.. Just a thought...Craig Tullier pulled 143- 154 for years, now pulls 171s...BECAUSE thats what he usually weighs and had to cut weight to get down to 143-154... So can that be the same for Maximov, or the others?.... Steve Kirlew: Yes I know too that Eastern Bloc Countries are very common there, that was my point. Guy: Stop going by your eyes. AT yoiur age don't you need glasses?...Lol...LOL...LOL...There are guys right now I know that are pulling that are National and World Champions admit to me what they take and for how long, and when you LOOK at them, there is NO WAY YOU or anyone else would ever accuse them of taking anabolics. Because someone is heavily muscled, doesn't mean he is " on". Didn't we have this conversation once before...LOL...LOL...LOL..

I agree Christian, I know lots of guys who waste a lot of money on it and are not very big! But, back to the Pro's, I read where they can alter one piece of the steriod structure to beat any test. As they test for it, they change it again, making it undetectable. They also use a nasal spray steriod, it is undetectable after only a few hours. The women also take epitestostorone, which means they are never out of limits when they do a differential test. 8 parts test to 1 part epitest. So, they can jack up their test, but jack up the epi test too, so it beats the ratio test. People will always find ways to do it. I stand by my claim, it can make you a much better lifter, or faster, etc, but it does not make you a great armwrestler. Better yes, but not great. There are so many guys like Engin who routinly beat big big men. I use the analogy of a chipmpanzee, they are less then half our size, but up to 3 times stronger, its not muscle, its tendons, connective tissue, etc. Thats why GH may be a better choic to prevent injury in armwrestling. Christian, your fat handles are in the mail today BTW

ok Christian you say they may be dieting.is there any need for Alexy Voevoda to diet for his class.surely not, because esspecially tournament time he would wanna be strong enough in supers.he was 107kg in Canada and 122kg in Poland for zloty.15kg clean muscle in one year and on someone that is already big enough.i guess 15kg equals 33pound,and i dont think he dieted to 107kg to compete plus 110kg. from otherside you are very right about accusing is not right thing to do without having any proof.but we are not official judges or something,we are just writing what we think about these things.they wont get suspended even if we find them guilty:) many of the Russians didnt go to the worlds because they didnt have money.they dont make money from this.i just dont understand why that region has the strongest armwrestlers.someone used to live in Lithuania has told me once that when someone was in the team CCCP he had no chance of choosing if he wants to use them or not.they just give you what they want even without explaining you what it was.

Engin, I agree about Voevoda, I should have clarified myself, I was talking about the lighter guys. And I'm not saying all are dieting. I just threw that out there as a "possibilty " for the reason why some lighter guys can jump weight so quickly...Remember I am in agreement with you about who is " on ". Yeah they do "seem" to come from those Eastern Bloc Countries, where its very easy to get it...
