i really wonder which tournaments can give us a real world title?for example,if i pull Cobra in US for money as a special event and we declare the winner as the world champion, how many of you would count this as a world title?for sure both i and cobra have many world titles to pull eachother as a top event.but would this realy give us another world title?
or is WAF the only official World Championships to get a world title.i sometimes have a feeling that im not a real world champion even after 8 WAF and 5 Petaluma titles.but i just dont know how to get a REAL world title if these are not the world titles as someone told me today that i need to gain REAL world titles.please share your thoughts of becoming a REAL world champion.

Ppl cant really look at the tournaments u won and say that your not a world champ.
If we dont have WAF World Championships to determin who is world champ and who is not then what do we have?

yes zloty has very few weight classes to pull with only a few countries attendance.europeans are sometimes harder but you cant get world title without other continants are participated.

it would be very disrespectful to not to count all those WAF winners as the real world champions.WAF worlds are the tournaments that we all have prepared our selves to win for many years.we for many years didnt go there for nothing but a world title.there was no money,no materialistic benefit for no body to gain except a world title to be proud of.

Agree the world title is somethin special that everyone is after, harder or not really doesent matter.. But i do think we have a problem telling who the real world champ is with 2 federations going and it looks like PAL is gonna be a third one.. Lots of ppl think of different events as the real world championships i think..

both of the WAF federations are counted as world championships.now we are united again and we will have a unified worlds again after many years.
this WAF federation is the ONE that will take us to the olympics soon or late.my greatest dream has always been to be an olympic champion.i realy dont think that i will be strong enough to win when our sport armwrestling gets into the olympics.but i really would love to see armwrestling in the olympic games.any further separation in the armwrestling world will cause this dream to become impossible.
i believe that our daily benefits should be less important than our main goal, which is OLYMPICS.its some thing that we all should work with our best to make this possible for the youngsters who are future champions.

I for one Engin believe the WAF's world tourney's are our only way of having a World Championship, to find true world champs....I've been told many times by others that it doesn't matter if this guy or that guy didn't show up, you were the best that day with who did show.......I myself would love to see the best from each country from both WAF's show up to a World championship, thats how I wanna win a World title.......I can tell you also from my experience in '02' in Eygpt, I was happier taking 4th in the open 80kg class then winning the masters class, just not as much competition in masters as the open from other countries. Hopefully in Japan '05' we'll get to see all the best show up.....I plan on being there myself to find out if I can be counted as one of the best. Just my thoughts on it Mike West

Mike, it doesnt matter if its master, junior, disabled or open class, they all are world champions of their categories.
its true that open classes are harder to win since rest of the categories can compete in open class.
i believe that the nations make the worlds.we all are members of a great organisation that is called World Armwrestling Federation, that will lead us to OLYMPICS.then sport of armwrestling will receive more respect.then we all (doesnt matter champion or not) will be proud of our sport.
hey Mike,if we ever get in the olympics i will be pulling masters, and you will be pulling grandmasters:)

Keep in mind years ago, Petaluma was the real World Championship event, and it raised armwrestlers from all over the World and the attendance was “MEGA HUGE”now that other organizations are born, armwrestling has taking on new heights and level of sports men and women that could not travel to USA. World Armwrestling Federation has been the attendance holder but, don’t count out other events as they’ve displayed the best of the best. The title "World Champion" is a word, kind of like karate, a black belt is just the color of the belt. If you’re the best in your weight class you’ll know!
I won the 93 & 95 Petaluma, 95 Team USA (Moscow) & 96 NAWA Worlds, does this mean I was the best of the best in those years, hell no, I just got lucky, and the guy's I had doubt about beating didn't show up that day. Ha sure sounds good though

yes for many years petaluma is one of the greatest championships.
russians were there when i competed in 97.even this year it was damn hard as far as i look at the results and competitors.
the truth is i have many international event titles but i take petaluma as the 2.best to WAF worlds.
