what should i do in this case?

I bring to you a kind of touchy subject because of the way the term fair is used!!!

I wish to bring my son to Nationals in 08... He is 6 he trains twice a week and has a killer hook and press.. I'v tried to show him the toproll but as soon as he feels like he is loosing he slams his opponent in the hook....Now i want to prove that my son is the strongest 6 year old in the country... But as it turns out he will not compete because he will most lkly competet agaist teenagers due to his size and weight 4'7 130lbs. I know that if he could compete againt lets say 10 year olds he would have some succes as his two training partners ar 11 and 10 he has no trouble at all with then. but children in their teens will always be stronger then children due to their development.

So should I wait untill my son etheir drops 60 pounds or becomes a teenager himself before brining him to a nats???

I dont see anything wrong with cutting back on the sugar and carbs even in a kid that age

As I said on the other board just coming with you win lose or draw will be a plus for him. Who knows how they will bracket up the Juniors at your Nationals.

Why dont you just have him Supermatch Gobby? They are about the same size. I think he could probably toproll Chris right now, nevermind waiting till Nats.

I agree with Leonard, Russ and I bring our 11 year old son Bryce with us every tourney we go to. He has been pulling and working out since he was around 6 or 7. He loves the sport and is very dedicated but he runs into the fact that there are not alot of kids divisions and has recently started entering the light weight adult classes just to gain experience and table time. Although I must say Bryce has a unique attitude in the fact that he wants to earn a win and not be given it...he has no problem losing in the adult classes he just enjoys competing, in fact at the last tourney he got really mad because one guy let him have a win and he didn't like that at all! As long as he has a healthy attitude toward winning and losing I think it would be worth the experience to let him compete.

I also agree with Robert....there is never an age that is too young to start healthy eating habits and eating sugars and carbs in moderation...and a good daily dose of cardio!

he's 4'7 and 130 lbs at six ,wow my boy is six and weighs 50lbs and is 4'.Its sick how the genetics of kids just keep improving .My son is a wrestler and is in a condition that i would of never been in at his age ,he has got a mean six pack.well keep him going Ian an i am sure we will here of him soon enough

for sure my son is overweight as am I now weight 320lbs we both eat alot and is compounded buy sleep apnia that we both have. My son and i are going to see a nutritionist at our local clinik and I'm going for sergery on my jaw to extend it forward so i don't sufficate while I sleep. I will perchase a nighttime breathing machine for him and we now have 2 tread mills at the house....

I have been blinded for the last few years about my son's and my weight due to the fact I've always wated to be huge and I encourage my son being large he is naturally massive as he has a very large bone structure. my father is 6'5 and my wife has a 7'0 uncle but it's clear that we have to get his weight down..

well this is all new to me as in the last month or so I was tested then he was. So give me time to do the right thing buy him!!!

Ian being a guy that has been as large as 316 pounds and as small as 225 pounds in the last 5 years I can honestly tell you its not an easy road.......

I "bulked up" to 316 to play offensive line for my football team, but i should have stayed at 270 and just played defensive end.....But i realized i wasn't as mobile nor energetic as i was even at 270 so i decided to start leaning out, currently I am down to 250 pounds on a bad day, but my plan is to be around 230 by the start of summer..........its been a 5 year transformation and well I wish i could tell you that its an easy road but to shed basically 80 pounds in the last 3 years has not come easy, but I learned six small meals are more valuable than 4 large ones..........oh yeah and fast food forget about it..................best of luck man......

take him with you to watch the competetion.i am sure that this will inspire him.he can still improve in armwrestling just by being around the armwrestling.if i was you i would not risque him already.it may even damage his confidence.just let him be around you and he will get only better and stronger without any doubt.good luck!
