Hey everyone, what sports/activities do you enjoy outside of armwrestling? This can include games like chess and poker.
I'm going to hopefully compete in my first triathelon this summer.
I used to play a lot of basketball but the strain on my kness became too much.
I'm also a deputy blackbelt in Tae Kwon Doe, haven't done it in years though.
My main interest right now is just peak physical fitness, nutrition, and heath oriented subjects.

At the moment I am deep into Han Mu Do - a Korean martial art where I am learning under the second Master known in this style, Chief Master Serio. The founder, Dr. He Young Kimm, has schools all over the world, but calls Baton Rouge, La. his home. (It is amazing to learn under someone so high in the ranks as my instructor, it gives you more of a focal point. IMO) We (my kids and I) are about to compete in the annual HMD World Tournament in a couple of weeks and it is always a huge event. This year we will be doing breaking contests, weapons, forms, techniques, demonstrations, full-contact sparring, etc.. I love to play baseball, I lothe basketball, I also love hockey (never played it), darts, bowling, football, and volleyball. Just taken up Texas Holdem' for some reason. Good luck on your new venture, Joseph.

I also used to participate in martial arts. I took Tae Kwon Doe for about 5 years and I studied Karate in college my first year. I played some soccer throughout elementary and middle school until about high school when I quit. I became interested in armwrestling and that pretty much took over the sports aspect of my life for me ever since. ;D

Hi Engin. My height is about 6"3 or 190 cm. My weight is about 216 pounds or 98 kilograms. My hand is not very big( about 20 cm from wrist to middle finger) but strong.

thats a funny one Engin, the words amateur arm-wrestling being in reference to your name. Even if they are talking about when you were younger. ;D
O Well, I guess you gotto start someplace.

I love playing pick-up games like wiffle-ball homerun-derby, football, etc in our backyard. I almost have more fun playing these type of games than I do armwrestling, because they are purely for fun, nothing serious. I constantly struggle with myself about keeping armwrestling in perspective. I first started pulling for the fun of it, but it has become a far more serious part of my life now. Sometimes that in itself takes some of the fun out of it. Know what I mean?
Also, I am a huge NFL football fan, maybe even a little obsessed with it!

I have previously put a long list of things that I have played so I wont bore you with that, I just love to compete.
Man Kurt did you take me back with wiffle ball, but even that we took to the competitive edge, we had a natural ballpark to play it on in our neighborhood, it was just a chunk of grass but the path everyone used to cut through the park around a 7 ft high retaining wall made it look like first and third baselines, on top of the retaining wall was a dinger and beyond that past the trees that were on top of the dirt behind the retaining wall was the fence that surrounded the park, if you hit it over that fence to the street it was a granny…
We would get those cheap fake batters helmets from our favorite teams, two kids to a team we had a little league going, the Dodgers, the Reds, the Yankees we had rules about augmented bats and plastic bases with lawn spikes on them to hold them down. Even a chalk scoreboard that we hung on a small water pipe in the wall to keep score. Man that was fun.
I have always been horribly competitive playing every sport I could, it was that part of me that got me back into armwrestling because I was so upset by the lack of competitive people I could find for the team sports, once I got back into armwrestling I was hooked, and admittedly I love it more than is probably healthy.

Simon, you sound alot like me! I played women's softball for years and couldn't stand it when we would lose, because I knew that I did MY PART! I picked up golf in 1987 and was actually pretty good. I loved the sport and it was a great challenge to me... I could drive with 'the guys'. However, it was such a mental game that when it came to tournament time, I would choke simply because my adrenaline was running so high I couldn't hardly golf... Then came armwrestling! one on one... your success depends solely on yourself... if I don't succeed, it's my own fault! I don't think there is another sport that I would rather be involved in. And the adrenaline is a positive thing for me in armwrestling. And you're right again, Simon,I also love it more than it is probably healthy! Sometimes reality comes back around and smacks me in the face! As a family, though, in the summer we spend most of our time on our 25' sailboat... nothing else like it! Just my 2 cents....again...

I used to race pro motocross for a little while mostly local to N.Y. and N.J. CT. PA. I was never the best but I was good when you watched it on TV I was one of those other twentyfive guys that nobody knew in the pack.( two times at Giant stadium )back in 1987. I quit too early ( did not have any sponsorship and if you think it is expensive to compete in Armwrestling forget it on motocross ) What is interesting is I used to dream about doing freestyle competitions ( they did not have X-Games back then ) but who would have ever thought that sport would evolve into existance I cant do what they do on TV but I was able do do what was radical back in 1987 and surely if I kept up would be doing what you see those nuts doing by now....and those guys actually make big money !!! to think I quit Racing mototcycles and picked up Armwrestling .......Bad financial choice ;D. Still love to ride ........ and will always have a Streetbike , Dirtbike and a Quad till the day I day Christopher Myers P.S. here is a toast to my boy Steve Black the only kid who had the balls to get on back of a bike with me back in high school when I was doing wheelies down the whole block of my High School ( usually with cops chasing us , a daily occurance back then) I would not get on the back of a bike with myself ,Steve is definately fearless !!!

I grew up playing baseball and basketball. I even played college hoop for 2 years at a Div2 college..But then had to leave cause I just couldn't afford it... Then got into Mountain Biking and became pretty good at it too, well good enough to get sponsored by a bike shop. I competed for about 3 or 4 years on the NORBA circuit until an injury at work put me out for good.. Then came armwrestling and go figure I'm still chuggin along ;D
